It’s so important to me to educate people on how to style and take care of their hair so they will have better success replicating it on their own. Hannah had super long mermaid hair that was weighing her curls down. Once we got some of that weight off and put in a bunch of layers it was a game changer. She now has healthy bouncy curls! One of the key things is I showed her how to recreate these beautiful bouncy curls at home!... It takes time and practice but once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing!

Sooo I did a thing! I chopped my hair! I must have taken like 6 inches off! Now I’m feeling cute and I might just take over the world... or I might just chop off some more What do you think? I’m doing a poll... Should I cut it to my collarbone? ......or Should I leave it this length?

Bernie and I waiting till salons in the Bay Area are allowed to open again! Quarantine seems endless, but with vaccines for 65 and older available in the Bay Area, it gives me hope that shelter in place will be lifted sooner than we think.

Ohhh That feeling you get when you walk out of the salon after 8 months of quarantine and all you can do is play with your hair and shake it around because it feels so good that it’s finally healthy and hydrated! #jenniferfreesia #studiomsalon #alamedastylist #alamedahairstylist #bayareahairstylist #eastbayhairstylist #bayarea #bayareastylist #eastbaystylist #bayareacurlyhairspecialist #curlspecialist #bayareacurlygirl #curlspecialisteastbay #bayareacurlyhairspecialis...t #eastbaycurlspecialist #devacurlbayarea #devacutalameda #devacuteastbay #devacutbayarea #curlyhaircut #naturalhair #eastbaydevacutstylist #devacutstylist #devacurlstylist #mydevacurl #DevaCurl #curlyrevolution #thecurlyrevolution

Welcome to my new salon home! I’m excited to share this space with you. We are doing our best to make everyone feel safe and at ease. When you arrive, wait in your car and and send me a text and I will let you know when I am finished sanitizing and ready for you to come in. ... What is great about this location is that there are two parking spaces in front of the salon and four behind it. There are partitions in between the stations for that extra protection. The serene atmosphere helps you forget that we’re in a pandemic. I can’t wait to see you as your next appointment. #jenniferfreesia #studiomsalon #alamedastylist #alamedahairstylist #bayareahairstylist #eastbayhairstylist #bayarea #bayareastylist #eastbaystylist #eastbaybalayage #bayareabalayage #bayareahairpainting #bayareacurlyhairspecialist #curlspecialist #curlspecialisteastbay #eastbaycurlspecialist #devacurlbayarea #devacutoakland #devacuteastbay #devacutbayarea #curlyhaircut #naturalhair #eastbaydevacutstylist #devacutstylist #devacurlstylist #mydevacurl #curlyrevolution #thecurlyrevolution

Need help refreshing you curls? Here are some tips: Spray hair with water or you can use a mix of conditioner and water. The frizzier it is the wetter the hair should be . Wet hands and apply your favorite styler, I love creams or leave-ins for this. Smooth out the frizz by "petting" your hair. Do this section by section, then scrunch .... You can air dry but if you diffuse for a few minutes it will enhance your curls Let me know if this helps! Music: Mornings Musician: Jef

x ss? DONT FREAK OUT QUITE YET!! There are a bunch of things that can cause hairloss! Some are serious but a lot are not! Stress... Postpartum hairloss Diet Medicine Aging Weight loss Too much vitamin A Anesthesia Thyroid disease Autoimmune diseases Scalp infection Other Illnesses What is the one reason I see the most hairloss in clients? STRESS! Yes stress and hair loss can totally be related! It’s called Telogen Effluvium. When you're under significant stress it pushes large numbers of hair follicles into a resting phase. Within a few months, affected hairs might fall out suddenly when simply combing or washing your hair. And with the pandemic going on a lot of us are experiencing a bunch of stress! Often times you see a delayed reaction from when you experience stress to when your hair starts shredding. Another cause is Alopecia areata. A variety of factors are thought to cause alopecia areata, possibly including severe stress. With alopecia areata, the body's immune system attacks the hair follicles causing hair loss. Right now is a stressful time. Give yourself some grace and make time to relax! BREATHE! But before you jump to thinking you’re losing hair, keep in mind it is totally normal to lose 50-100 hairs a day! So especially if you are new to wearing your hair curly and not washing or brushing your hair everyday a lot of those 50-100 hairs are going to be trapped in those curl families until you wash your hair. Once you finally wash your hair it often feels like you are shedding a massive amount of hair the size of a small animal the thicker and longer your hair is the larger your hair ball will look. If you are using a No-Poo make sure you are scrubbing your scalp while you rinse. Since it doesn't have bubbles it needs you to do the work to get it out of your hair. If not you may be creating build up and possibly blocking your follicles I would only be concerned if you actually see your hair thinning in patches or dramatically thinning all over. In that case I would get blood work done just to be safe! Feel free to share this with someone who it may help.
