Hmm, what do you think adoptable kitten Tina is looking at? We definitely know she's looking for YOU to come adopt her! Won't you make an appointment to meet her today?

One of the first thing I did to prepare my massage studio was to bring in a medical grade HEPA air filtration unit. Along with strict cleaning protocols, this is the best way to keep my clients safe. I am open for medical clients now!... Remember to get your doctor or chiropractor to give you a referral for massage. Telemedicine is an easy way to get one, or they can send you a prescription.

Message from the Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers: "As you move through these changing times... be easy on yourself and be easy on one another. You are at ...the beginning of something new. You are learning a new way of being. You will find that you are working less in the yang modes that you are used to. You will stop working so hard at getting from point A to point B the way you have in the past, but instead, will spend more time experiencing yourself in the whole, and your place in it. Instead of traveling to a goal out there, you will voyage deeper into yourself. Your mother's grandmother knew how to do this. Your ancestors from long ago knew how to do this. They knew the power of the feminine principle... and because you carry their DNA in your body, this wisdom and this way of being is within you. Call on it. Call it up. Invite your ancestors in. As the yang based habits and the decaying institutions on our planet begin to crumble, look up. A breeze is stirring. Feel the sun on your wings."

Well since I woke up with a nasty stiff neck, I thought it was a good time to revisit my old friend The Stiff Neck Muscle, Levator Scapula, (Along with Upper Tr...ap and Scalenes in many cases) Thanks to the brilliant work of Leon Chaitow, I worked it out with several rounds of Self Strain-Counter-Strain/Positional Release. Shout out to a colleague for this collaboration. Keep in mind our friends the Scalene's have similar attachments with the L.S. at the T.P. of the Cervical Spine, thus a functional link between the Cervical Spine and the Shoulder Girdle. A good clinical consideration when working with clients. STIFF NECK CONSIDERATIONS LEVATOR SCAPULAE ANATOMY, PATHOLOGY, TREATMENT The levator scapulae muscle resides at that back and side of the neck. Levator means to lift in Latin, so as the name implies, its goal is to lift the scapula,as well as a stabilizer for the Cervial Spine. It comes up by tendinous slips from the transverse processes of the atlas and axis and from the posterior tubercles of the transverse processes of the third and fourth cervical vertebrae. It is embedded into the vertebral border of the scapula, amid the medial angle and the triangle smooth surface at the root of the spine. Levator scapulae muscle trigger points can lead to referred pain on the lateral side of the neck (headaches) and in the shoulders as you can see on the red marked zones. You may feel burning between your shoulder blades after sitting at your computer without elbow support. What causes levator scapulae muscle pain? Stress. Relax those shoulders! Head forward posture. Remember to sit up straight, lower your shoulders and bring your head back! Holding a phone between your ear and shoulder. Get a headset! Wrong training habits. Bra straps that are too tight, Have your bra fit by a person trained to get a good fit! Any position where your head is turned to one side. Do you turn to see your computer screen?
