www.jeannerose.net/courses.html ~ Three things to learn 1. the blue oils are blue in color 2. there is no blue in the plant itself 3. if the color of the EO is turning brown to yellow it is oxidized, don’t use it.... http://jeanne-blog.com/blue-oils-pt-1/

Perfumery is so interesting and the development of a scent is fascinating. I have now finished a 5-part series on my blog and the previous blog about Home Perfumery and part 2 of Home Perfumery was posted yesterday. Read all about it. And ask questions, I will usually answer within 48 hours. https://jeannerose-blog.com/home-perfumery-pt-2/

The essential oils, with their scents and colors, were created to remind us that there is a heaven; we need only open our eyes to see and inhale the scent to breathe.

Don’t drink essential oils in water. Because essential oils are not soluble in water (they do not dissolve), it makes it harder for the body to metabolize and assimilate the essential oil. If you drink them you are putting stress on your internal organs. Essential oils are volatile chemical cocktails consisting of various (hundreds) of chemical components from ten or so chemical families. They are extremely concentrated.

Thank you so much to Organic Alcohol Company (organicalcohol.com) for making Pear Spirits available. I thought I would never see this again after discovering the Pear essential oil over 20 years ago and writing about it (on my website article page). This is just lovely and changes the character of any perfume blend that you can make. Last week, I took an empty 1-dram vial of Jasmine bottle that had a tinge of color left in it and simply added 2 ml of Pear spirits. Today I opened up that Jasmine and I had the most beautiful jasmine-scent ever. Quite astonishing. Go to Organic Alcohol Company on FB and read all about it.

Christmas tree with nutcracker ornaments. The Noble Fir, Abies procera, makes the best Christmas tree with space between the branches to show off some ornaments and strong branches to hang heavy ornaments. l like the reflecting mirrors as well.

Lotus grows out of the mud and is very beautiful and fragrant. The Chinese believed that it was pure and clean, like morning dew from Heaven or water in springtime Even other flowers-like magnolias-are piled into lotus shapes. Nelumbo nucifera is considered to be one of the most ancient plants in existence, over 2,000 years old. The scent of lotus has a rich, intoxicating quality that evoked the warm, misty, and voluptuous atmosphere of tropical forests or gardens. Chine...se poets also use lotus flowers to inspire people to continue striving through difficulties and to show their best part to the outside world, no matter how bad the circumstances may be. This is understood as being just like the lotus flower, bringing beauty and light from the murky darkness at the bottom of the pond. Another symbolic characteristic of the lotus flower leads from the observation that the plant's stalk is easy to bend in two, but is very hard to break because of its many strong sinuous fibers. In Buddhism the lotus flower symbolizes faithfulness. The golden lotus that is mentioned in Buddhist sutras has two meanings; one is the symbol for the achievement of enlightenment and the other points towards a real flower, which is beyond our normal perception. This is my favorite Eucalyptus oil - it is gentle enough to use in children's formulas and inhalation (in dilution of course). www.jeannerose.net/books.html

This is the time of year that the full moon moves across the sky and is low enough to shine directly into my window as I sleep. October's first full moon is the HARVEST MOON on October 1. The name dates from the time before electricity when farmers depended on the Moon's light to harvest their crops late into the night.
