Urban areas top soil is either raked or disrupted by construction etc. Nitrogen, under natural conditions comes from decomposed organic matter, removing leaf litter and other natural resources of nitrogen can disrupt the cycle of nitrogen in the soil, therefore, we must fertilize to increase growth, resist susceptibility to certain diseases and insect pest, & can help reverse declining health . #themoreyouknow #fertilization #trees #keeptrees #treebizz #caring #losgatos #sunnyvale #santaclara #morganhill #losaltos #arborist #isacertifiedarborist

As an Arborist and a manager of a tree business I’m always asked to take out large limbs, or reduce the foliage of a tree and it is my job to explain the negatives of removing messy leaves and or too many limbs or leaves. Pictured above is a heavily decayed Liquid Amber tree, it’s a shame because the tree is about 30 years old but the malpractice pruning really limited the overall potential of this trees future growth and health. Some quick facts: Leaf removal reduce...s photosynthesis and overall tree growth. Larger cuts render a tree more susceptible to invasion by decay organisms. Keep the wounds as small as possible. Pruning cuts should not exceed 1/3 of the diameter. Hire your local Arborist today for proper pruning techniques and evaluations of your trees. #Arborist #treebizz #educate #proffesionals See more
