Did you begin our Planks & Thanks challenge yet? Planks can be a great overall body exercise, but definitely a good one to strengthen your core muscles. Strong core muscles aren't just for nice looking abs, you want to have a strong core so you are able to function daily without issues, especially as we age. New to planks? Start off with either a standing plank or one leaning on a desk or table like shown in the pictures below. Make sure to engage your core muscles, keep your body in one long line, pull down your shoulder blades and breathe. November challenge....Planks and thanks. Even in these crazy times, we have a lot to be thankful for. Keeping our health and strength is one not to take for granted. I challenge you to these planks as scheduled. Everyone can do them. You do know there are several ways to do planks. If you are new to them, start off at the wall, with your feet back away from the all so you are leaning into it. From there, do the same but at your desk, from there, a chair and from there the floor. Even on the floor you can do different levels, on your knees, on your toes and elbows, or your toes and hands. Which ever you do, you will find yourself stronger by the end of the month.
