First-time home buyers! If you're ready for homeownership, preparing and maintaining your finances is incredibly important in setting yourself up for success. Today I'm sharing 6 money mistakes to avoid when preparing to purchase your first home :... 1. Assuming you need to put 20% down - you don't! (Message me for more details) 2. Sub-par bank statements 3. Opening or closing credit cards 4. Taking out new loans on cars, boats, etc. 5. Not saving for closing costs - fees, insurance, moving costs, etc. 6. Buying the most expensive house you qualify for - try to stay within in your realistic budget Do you have questions about the costs associated with home buying? Ask me anything! I'm here to help.

Home selling tip: show off your space, not your stuff! If you're preparing to list your home, staging plays a big role. With so many buyers viewing homes virtually, it's important to show off as much of your home as possible so viewers can get a good look. The first step to staging is decluttering and depersonalizing. Start by going through your home room by room and storing away personal items, photos, memorabilia and knick-knacks. Don't worry, you can display them again... in your new home! One of the main reasons for staging is to allow potential buyers to view themselves in your home. By decluttering and depersonalizing, buyers can view your home as a clean slate and imagine how their own belongings might fit there. Find this helpful? Follow along for more selling tips!
