April 136 2021 On April 15, 2021 attended as a Member Federal Bar Association's (#FBA) Los Angeles Chapter the webinar "The Challenges and Opportunities of Litigating During Covid, and Where We Go From Here: A Judicial Perspective ". October 29, 2020: U.S. Department of Justice: The agreement resolves allegations brought by the former head of quality control at Guild Mortgage Company, Kevin Dougherty, under the qui tam, or #whistleblower, provisions of the False Claims Act, which permit private parties to sue on behalf of the government for false claims and to receive a share of any recovery. The Act permits the United States to intervene in such a lawsuit, as it did in part here.
