I’ve been so busy making sure my neighbors have voted that I hadn’t done so myself! Britt and I dropped our ballots off at the Voter Assistance Center at the WUSD headquarters on Westacre this afternoon. Easy and fast! Go vote!

Starting the morning off by picking up our vegetable box from Fiery Ginger Farm. We have to promote healthy eating habits and support local businesses and farms. What recipes are you thinking of with these ingredients? ... #Great2bWUSD #westsacbestsac

For the last decade, I've worked with neighborhoods to make them better places to live. I've served on the Transportation Commission bringing valuable projects forward like Via Ride-share and the city's micro mobility program. I've served on Sacramento's Regional Homeless Coalition funding crucial projects and COVID-19 response for our most vulnerable population. ... At a time like this we need, trusted leadership that can be a champion for the neighborhood, but work to continue to support the growth of our city and education system. Vote Jameson Parker for School Board Area 2. #Great2bWUSD #westsacbestsac #westsacramento https://secure.anedot.com/jameson-parker-for-wusd-bo/donate

Good morning West Sac! As we head down the last two weeks of the campaign I wanted to something fun. I was going to show my Westfield Wildcat and Elkhorn Tiger pride by carving my pumpkin with our mascots, but I am pretty terrible at carving pumpkins so I need your help.... Grab a pumpkin with your family and give it your best try of showing pride for our neighborhoods by carving one or both of our mascots. Post a photo to Facebook and make sure to tag me, Jameson Parker or Jameson Parker for WUSD Area 2, in the photo. I’ll be grabbing some fan favorites and sending you gift cards to a few of my favorite D2 businesses!! Let’s have some fun and make sure to tag me in your pumpkin carving designs. Thank you! #Great2bWUSD #westsacbestsac #westsacramento

As I've talked to neighbors about what our needs are in the community I have heard a few themes that have really shaped my priorities. The first is about making sure we set the stage for students to get good quality jobs be in through a college education or strong career development program. The second is making sure we have representation that knows how to work to fight for our city as a whole, but also can bring resources and investments to our neighborhoods. ... The last is that we need to go beyond the classroom and look at how we are investing in better transportation, better food access, and better public amenities like parks. These are all priorities that I've worked on and will continue to push for as a school board member. #WUSD #westsacbestsac #Great2bWUSD #westsacramento #WestSac https://secure.anedot.com/jameson-parker-for-wusd-bo/donate

I'm running for many reasons, but I want to share a story to help paint a better picture. West Sacramento really embraced me and my family. When my fiancé and I bought our house here, we were met with warmness and kindness. The first week my neighbor was reaching over the back fence to pass me a plate of tacos and a beer.... That's the environment of West Sacramento. This is the type of community that we are. We're here to support each other, to lift each other up and come together as a community. I've also heard concerns from families as I've talked to them. They're afraid about their future and their children's future. They need to have a representative that will fight to make sure that our students are provided with the resources. That our families are provided with the resources that they deserve. That our schools, our teachers, and our staff have the investments in the tools that they need to provide a quality learning environment. What neighborhood you grow up in shouldn't dictate what investments that you get, whether or not you are afforded an opportunity to be successful, for your child to have the most success and be taught with the best learning environment. That's why I'm running for school board. #WUSD #Great2bWUSD #westsacbestsac #westsacramento #westsac https://secure.anedot.com/jameson-parker-for-wusd-bo/donate

I'm sorry I haven't been active on social media recently. I have been a little busy as you can see I am still working every day to connect with the community and learn about the important issues we face. There is much work to be done and I am committed to doing the work.. with my new wife. #WUSD #Great2bWUSD #westsacbestsac #westsacramento #westsac... https://secure.anedot.com/jameson-parker-for-wusd-bo/donate

Have you had a chance to tour the culinary academy at the CTE facility in Bryte? Cheryle is doing an incredible job at the new food facility! What other careers do you think we should expand on supporting at the school district?

Jameson Parker 24.09.2020

Here's a fun fact for WUSD Area 2. Since August, our neighborhoods have seen a 5% increase in voter registration! Participation in our communities is so important. I've been so thrilled with the amount of people I've talked to sharing that this is the first year they're voting and it ranges in ages and backgrounds. If you're not registered there's still time. You have until October 19th to get your voter registration in. To register online, go to https://registertovote.ca.gov/

Congrats and thank you to all those being recognized this year! Thanks for the all the hard work to existing board members Jackie Thu Huong Wong and Sarah Kirby-Gonzalez in leading the district. I had a chance to walk Westfield Village with the principal back in August, and even with students not on site, the campus looked fresh and well taken care of. Glad the work of Cristobal is being recognized!... #Great2bWUSD #westsacbestsac

Always love supporting local businesses. Baker Family Wines is an incredible winery that launched their tasting room in West Sac and now share a space with Bike Dog. Now you can get the best of both worlds. Come grab a bottle. #westsacbestsac #bakerfamilywinery #bikedog

West Sac. When we talk about building healthy communities SACOG is a great tool and resource to support us. Students interested in building a better future I highly recommend applying. Want more information reach out to me personally.

Keep bending that curve West Sac. We are all in this together. Shop at local businesses, grab food to go from our restaurants, and most importantly support each other. We are all in this together.

Really excited to join this conversation about how we can be better govern from an equity lens. Thank you to the Yolo County School Boards Association for having this important discussion.

Early investments pay off in the long run when it comes to our children’s education. Between the college savings program and the internship program through West Sac Home Run there is a lot we can do to support and uplift our community. These programs will be even more crucial as we come out of the pandemic and something I will continue to push for on the school board.

Supporting local artists is crucial to vibrant communities. Brittany and I were happy to take home this amazing piece by West Sac artist Lynn Mayugba at an art walk this afternoon. Growing our creative economy starts in our schools and why it’s important to have a strong arts program including visual and performing arts. I look forward to supporting and growing our young artists as a school board member. #westsacbestsac #Great2bWUSD #westsac #westsacramento #WUSD

Friends, We are only a mere 49 days away from the election in November and a matter of weeks before ballots are mailed out. I have been having some incredible conversations with the neighbors here in West Sacramento and while my support is growing with each conversation, there is still much work to be done. ... I need your help. One of the easiest ways to show your support is by simply sharing this video and my page with your friends. If you are available and willing to volunteer, please reach out to let me know. This is truly a group effort. If you have the means to donative, I am still in need of funding to help further spread my vision of building healthy schools and communities. Your support is fundamental in ensuring that I am able to make the difference we want to see in the community and I greatly appreciated your helping me to reach this goal. Tonight on the West Sacramento Transportation Commission we heard an update about safety improvements at high collision intersections and pedestrian crossing improvements on multiple corridors including those in close proximity to our schools. Two enhanced safety measures for our neighborhood include better marked pedestrian crossings on Poplar right next to Westfield Village Elementary as well as better marked pedestrian crossings at Reuter Dr and Andrew St near Elkhorn Village Elementary. Take a look at the full staff report here for detailed information, but important work to improve the safety of our residents.

West Capitol is commonly recognized as having 30 motels that reside along it. What isn’t as commonly known is how many homeless families call these motels home. I often get asked how we can make a positive impact adressing homelessness in our neighborhoods. My answer is that we need to work creatively and responsibly, while supporting nonprofits working day in and day out on this issue such as organizations like the Yolo County Children’s Alliance and the Yolo County Homele...ss and Poverty Action Coalition. We need to come together as a city, county, network of partners and of course our schools to address this complex issue. For the last two years I’ve served on the Sac Regional Advisory Board to address homelessness. As a school board member I will continue to support and build relationships with our partners so we can make that positive impact and support our most vulnerable population. This is why I’m asking for your support for my candidacy to represent our neighborhoods on the school board. #Great2bWUSD #westsacramento #westsacbestsac #WUSD #westsac

Collaboration between public agencies is critical to building healthy, thriving communities. The West Sac Home Run Program, which is a joint effort between Washington Unified and the City of West Sacramento is a perfect example of breaking down silos to provide students a pathway to college. This article highlights the importance of programs like the West Sac Home Run, especially as we respond to COVID-19. Building pathways for good quality jobs and education will be a pillar of mine as a school board member because it supports our students and our neighborhoods.

This excerpt from a text message I got this weekend is why I know I’m doing the right thing by running for school board. I’m ready to bring my knowledge and passion to the board and support our neighborhoods. This is what it is all about! Healthy schools and healthy communities.

Jameson Parker 12.04.2020

Access to internet, especially in a virtual learning environment, is so important. I want to work towards building better connectivity and broadband access to West Sac residents. Free wi-fi in our parks is a great place to start. I worked with staff to launch this pilot program in Sacramento. Let's get this done here!

Jameson Parker 04.04.2020

I'm running for school board because our students need someone that cares about every part of their life. If we want students to be successful in school, we need to give them healthy and vibrant communities to live and thrive in. That's my promise as a school board member.

Jameson Parker 02.04.2020

Strong work by dedicated staff! Food insecurity is hard to deal with even in normal times. Making sure students have access to healthy food is vital to a quality education. I see lots of tomatoes and cucumbers in those pictures. Let me know if you need a tasty recipe!

After talking with neighbors the last few weeks it’s clear just how much everyone cares about our neighborhoods. I’m running for school board to ensure our community has a rep that cares as much as they do and will fight for them. Join me. #jameson4wusd #Great2BWUSD

Join these conversations with the school district. I hope these are recorded and shared afterwards for those who can’t make them.

Good morning West Sacramento! Public parks are crucial to our health and vitality as a community. We need to provide our neighborhoods with safe and vibrant community spaces for our families. As a school board representative I will make it a focus and a priority for our district. Getting our students prepared for the future with on the job experience and pathways to college is so important. We need to expand programs like the West Sac Home Run and continue our partnership with our local government to offer opportunities to our students. That’s why I’m proud to be supported by Mayor Cabaldon.

Jameson Parker 27.01.2020

I'm running for school board to ensure our students are given the opportunity they deserve to be successful. I want to provide better access, greater connectivity and stronger accountability for our students, parents and community. Please help spread the word and consider donating to my effort. We have a lot of work to get done. Let's get to it! https://secure.anedot.com/jameson-parker-for-wusd-bo/donate

It’s hot and smoky outside but we still have to support our local businesses. It’s pretty easy when it’s some of the best ice cream around!

Jameson Parker 07.01.2020

I joined 20 volunteers this morning to help cleanup along the river. At least 50 bags of trash removed. Great way to start the weekend by supporting our neighborhoods. #Great2BWUSD

Today I got to take a tour of Westfield Village Elementary. Congrats to the teachers and staff that have adapted to virtual learning to start the year. There's so much work that needs to be done to provide a quality learning environment including replacing 15 not so portable classrooms. Even in it's current state, there's a lot to be proud of. My favorite part was the secret community garden on campus. I can't wait to share my vision on bringing food literacy and urban agriculture to the school district. #Great2bWUSD

The stresses of starting school, the excessive heat, smoke filling the air and the pandemic make it is easier to forget about our mental health. Take five minutes to breathe and reset with this video because it is important to take care of ourselves and each other during these times. Stay safe everyone, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inpok4MKVLM. Also, parents don't forget about the social emotional resource guide provided by WUSD, https://docs.google.com//1PFKe4x5JMY2FniOYJEUTIwhfhn-/edit.

Creating safe streets for everyone is a passion of mine and one that is important to the health of our students. Neighborhoods like Westfield and Elkhorn deserve complete streets that improve the health our community and something I would advocate for as a school board member.

Jameson Parker 07.12.2019

On the Saturday before school starts in West Sacramento, it is not lost on me on how much work has gone into planning the upcoming school year. The teachers, parents, students, the administration, and school board have worked tirelessly over the last few months to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment. Thank you to everyone for their hard work.

Jameson Parker 21.11.2019

I'm excited to announce my candidacy for WUSD school board! I have a lot to give for West Sacramento and I can't wait to get to work. Please join me on the campaign to represent area 2.

What a great showing for the Yolo County Children‘s Alliance school supply give away. I saw over 250 vehicles drive through and probably over 600 backpacks and bags given away.
