Chinese medicine has been battling epidemics for centuries (repost, original: @tcmfi ). . From Covid-19 (2020) to SARS (2002) to the countless epidemics in early history, facing off with deadly transmittable diseases has been a recurring story in Chinese Medicine. . Historically, the battle was fierce and often pyrrhic. By the Ming Dynasty (1300-1600s) countless outbreaks had mercilessly ripped through the country.... . The Ming dynasty Chinese medicine doctor Wu You-Ke witnessed this age and sought to break through its suffering. Wu saw with his own eyes the seasonal epidemics and the misery of many people dying. He travelled in and out of the affected areas and made observations of the diseases and doctors’ experiences (1). . Wu saw a distinct problem: the current standard of care, understanding of the illnesses, and treatments were woefully inadequate and worse, ineffective. People were dying in masses. What worked in the past was no longer applicable. He sought innovation: new treatments for new diseases. . His ideas catalyzed a paradigm shift in the way Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) approached epidemics from that point forward. . Whilst it’s common knowledge in our day, 400 years ago Wu You-Ke postulated these epidemic diseases were caused by factors outside of the current scope of existing disease-causing agents. In other words, the culprits were things that doctors hadn’t even known existed. He asserted that there was actually a multitude of individual pathogens, each with its individual characteristics and manifesting its own species of illness. This was a revolutionary idea for Chinese medicine, a notion of transmissible fever-inducing pathogens that was akin to the germ theory of diseases (2). . Wu believed these pathogens invaded the body through the mouth and nose, directly affecting the lungs and stomach. Even without a microscope, he understood that the disease is transmitted person-to-person, and he stressed prevention of transmission through the use of makeshift face-masks and quarantining the epidemic affected-population from the regular sick population in hospitals. Recently did a consult with a young woman who had been on the pill ever since she was 16 years old. She originally went on it because her periods were painful AF & felt like she was bleeding out every month. She was so traumatized by the experience that even when she was on the pill, she always skipped the last 7 pills (the placebo pills) so that she wouldn’t even get a breakthrough bleed. . It’s been over 15 years and the fear of coming off the pill and experiencing a real period is all too real. And yet, with the fear of all the pain coming back again, she’s decided to try & come off the pill while we use acupuncture & herbal medicine to help prevent the cramps and heavy bleeding. It takes incredible courage & hope to step into unknown territory again. Hope to update you all with good news in the near future!

Acupuncture, in a paradoxical sense, is the least important part of what I do, because in the end it’s just the medium through which we explore the big picture: the patient’s happiness & growth.

What if obtaining better health could be a journey of empowerment. That your struggle with neck pain, high blood pressure, migraines, or fertility were these repositories of extraordinary human potential just waiting to be unlocked. All for the purpose of helping you deconstruct they myth. That exploring our discomforts meant looking at the myths, limitations, rules that we had subconsciously burdened ourselves with. That the weeds we so vigorously watered with our emotions & mentalities -- recognizing these could be the game changers in transforming our poisons into limitless medicine & growth. : @hud_art

Study findings courtesy of The Onion Our study confirms that a diet rich in foods such as olive oil, fish, and green vegetables can extend one’s lifespan by several years, as long as a life-expectancy equilibrium is maintained through reducing another person’s life by an equal amount of time, said head researcher Mara Haugen, hypothesizing that the phenomenon could possibly be attributed to the complex but lesser-known vampiric properties of omega-3 fatty acids. We’ve... found that people who adhere to the Mediterranean diet tend to feel more energized during the day and sleep more peacefully at night, feeding as they do off the waning life force of another human being, who withers and becomes sickly in turn. This is a huge breakthrough in the field of nutrition, and we highly recommend people adopt the lifestyle before they fall victim to it. See more

Bell’s Palsy Testimonial . At 34 weeks pregnant, I woke up on a Sunday and noticed I couldn't taste properly on the right side of my mouth. By 6:00pm that night, the entire right side of my face had frozen, and it was affecting my speech. I looked like I'd had a stroke. My husband and I were in the emergency room by 7:00pm and got the diagnosis of Bells Palsy . The following Sunday, I began acupuncture treatments with Dr. Jafari to see if we could hurry the healing time alo...ng. After speaking with several women who had the same diagnosis during pregnancy, it sounded like it was going to take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months for this to clear up. In the meantime, that meant I was going to welcome my baby into the world with a crooked smile and an eye that wasn't functioning properly. Not exactly the picture-perfect moment we all hope for . Dr. Jafari was incredibly gentle and thorough. He really took his time with the initial visit to make sure he was looking at the problem holistically, and not just treating the symptoms. He was so accommodating to my being pregnant and made sure that everything we did was comfortable, even providing pillows and blankets to make laying on my side more comfortable . The treatment itself has been pretty intense. Having needles in your face can be a little weird. But after only three treatments, most people can't even tell there is anything wrong with my face. The whole optimizing your fertility with a healthier lifestyle is not very kind towards a glass of wine. But sometimes, the bad advice is the best medicine Chronic stress can do incredible things to our bodies. For women, one of the things it can do is actually shut down your fertility. When your body is in constant danger, it makes the logical decision that procreation isn’t safe right now. And so it shuts down ovulation and any chance of getting pregnant. The solution...? Get less stressed. And sometimes that means a glass of chardonnay or my favorite get some acupuncture. #JafariAcupuncture #DrKamronJafari See more

You have clots? The question always comes up when discussing menstrual issues. What's the big deal? Clots are formed from the part of your uterine lining that sheds during your period. In a normal cycle, your flow should be relatively smooth. To some degree, having small and a few number of clots is normal. Large sized clots or having lots of them is when we start seeing red flags. Because it means that the flow is being impeded and circulation is suffering. This is often accompanied with heavy menstrual flow or painful cramps. In Chinese medicine we refer to this as a type of blood stasis (poor blood circulation). Our goal is to identify what's causing the poor blood circulation and remedying it with acupuncture, food, and herbs! #JafariAcupuncture #DrKamronJafari
