I say three cheers to all of this! Thank you Nicola Ries Taggart for your important reminders of ways to bring more calm during this busy season! And I highly recommend the Calm the Chaos journal!! Best gift idea ever, and available in many bookstores and Amazon!

You have to watch the whole thing. This reminds me so much of the work we do and why it is so important. And this video is just frickin' cute!

Thank you to my friend Aubri Lancaster for sharing this! Such a great and simple way to open communication with children and also grown people about the beautiful continuum of bodies, feelings, identities, and expression!

Can anyone else relate to this today?

These are solid ways to reduce anxiety during these challenging times. Pay attention to that first statement, before the strategies. I find that many of my clients struggle with allowing themselves to actually feel the negative feelings that come up. Self-judgement can arise when we have a belief that being stoic, strong, grounded or calm is good, while feeling anxiety, stress, panic, sadness, or any upset is bad. In this time, our bodies are important barometers. They are trying to guide us through something we have never experienced before. See if you can begin to tune in to your barometer, allow the feeling to be felt, and THEN use some of the strategies listed in the article.

One of the most wonderful parts of my coaching practice is helping clients describe their feelings so that their partners can understand and empathize, thereby increasing connection. I love this list because we as humans tend to focus so narrowly on a set of known emotions, when really there is infinite variety to what we feel!

Repost from Planned Parenthood The clitoris has only one known purpose: to give you sexual pleasure. Clitoral arousal feels different for everyone. Here are some things that can happen to your body when your clitoris is touched. When you’re sexually excited, your clitoris can:... get erect (hard), swell, and become sensitive. create wetness around your genitals. raise your blood pressure, heart rate, or temperature. make your nipples more sensitive. When you’re turned on, you may feel some, all, or none of these reactions. Figuring out what turns YOU on is what’s important. #sexedandcoaching #sexforthemodernhuman

Interesting! Glad to see that the pool of options for connection is widening and more embracing of people at various stages in their lives. "Starting a dating app during a time period in which human touch between strangers is temporarily verboten may sound like a terrible idea, but a new SF-created app could be positioning itself as a post-pandemic savior for the love lives of people looking to settle down with a family."

Sharing from my friend Kimberly Berry over at her brilliant site and podcast Being UnNormal. I don't know about you, but my anxiety has definitely been up with all of the shifts in life over these last few months. I find that strategies like the ones anxiety likes definitely help, especially routine and structure. How are you doing? What helps you during this time?

Work around vulnerability comes up with every client who enters my office. The magic happens when folks realize that being able to show up in a vulnerable and empowered way is one of the most awe-inspiring things we can do to build connection.

A fascinating read for your Sunday morning. I wholeheartedly agree with the author interviewed here. "Pleasure is inextricable from our social status, compressed and constrained by financial factors, by safety factors, by objectification," she says. We need to remove these barriers, she says, to experience sex with the "full freedom, expression, range and truth that we're endowed with."
