In years gone by, before the recent interest in the medicinal and medical uses of marijuana, the THC component was more valued and better developed by marijuana growers since the psychoactive impact was what was valued in the drug. However, now that there have been many studies showing the health benefits of marijuana and the CBD component in particular there has been a move towards producing strains of marijuana that are CBD rich which have lower levels of THC.
