Don’t forget about tomorrow’s virtual election fair hosted by the California Center of Ethics and Policy! This event, which takes place tomorrow from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., will allow students to interact virtually with representatives of political campaigns and groups supporting and opposing the different California propositions. Also, the event features a Freedom of the Press panel with two Com Department faculty, an alum and Poly Post editor from 11-11:45 a.m. If you're interested in attending, RSVP at election-fair.eventbrite.com.

Students with 90+ units and those who will be seniors at the end of Fall 2020 are eligible for the early Graduating Senior registration appointment. The Com Department will hold Zoom advising sessions for all options Tuesday (10/6) + Thursday (10/8) from 11:30-12:30. Faculty advisors will be available to answer questions, fill out forms, and help select Spring classes. See CPP email from Victoria Key for login info.

After the freedom of the press panel at CCEP’s Virtual Election Fair, please join an informal Q&A with COM alumna/journalist Malak Habbak 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Habbak has worked for print, digital, and broadcast news outlets - including 60 Minutes - and now works as a broadcast associate for CBS This Morning. For login info, email [email protected].

The CCEP is hosting a free virtual election fair Friday, Oct. 9. The nonpartisan event is designed to help students learn about CA propositions and cultivate informed voters. It also includes a Freedom of the Press panel including two of our Communication Department professors, Dr. Jason Turcotte and Dr. Lauren Furey, as well as an Com Department alum and current student/editor from The Poly Post! The Poly Post is working on a project to raise $8,500 for a Poly Post app! They are looking for ambassadors to promote the project, and at the end of the campaign, the top three ambassadors will receive gifts cards ranging from $25 to $100.
