This is what we love about comics - A simple three-panel and six-word sequence by writer/artist Lee Weeks. No matter what is going on in our world, no matter the challenges we may face, we can always close our eyes and remember this moment... and get inspired by it all over again.

In normal, non-pandemic years, July-August at Isotope is always packed full of visitors from around the world. Such a fun crowd! They often request American Western graphic novels. Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips’ PULP would be so perfect!! Can’t wait for that crowd to return again... but for now we’ll have fun putting this in the hands of our fellow San Franciscans!

UPDATED HOURS - Hello Isotope Family! These are our new hours of operation. In order to ensure everyone’s safety and sanity we will be closed this weekend (Saturday, July 4th and Sunday, July 5th) to avoid the holiday revelers this year. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the craziness that is 2020. Support our neighbors! The Rickshaw Stop is one of San Francisco’s best live music venues (and where the Isotope used to host our annual Halloween parties). With the pandemic closures still in effect for bars and venues for nearly 100 days now places like this definitely need our assistance to ensure our great San Francisco indie music institutions will still be here in the future. We know how much the Rickshaw Stop means to a lot of our customers... show these great neighbors of ours some love!

Great article about the masks being made by Isotope’s beloved neighbors at Dark Garden Unique Corsetry (we share a back wall). After the shutdowns it’s a tough time to own a comic store right now (especially one that is open for curbside pick-up but still remains closed for public browsing)... we sincerely can’t thank you enough for amazing books like these right now.
