Giuseppe Verdi, from Italy, premiered his first opera, Aida, at age 58. The most influential Czech composer Leos Janáek did not produce his masterpiece, opera Jenfa until the age of 62. American composer, Elliot Carter was one of the world’s oldest working composers, even writing his first opera at 90 years old!
