I asked them what the rubber bands wrapped around the animals are for and they answered, "they're bandages". Then they explained when the animals were "heals" (I reminded them of the past tense "healed"), they could take the bandages off. This is just one example of the many experiences I have with these awesome kids each day. I just love asking them about their ideas, or asking them what happened when they're having a hard timeit gives me such perspective and can be enligh...tening for the adult matters I'm working through (i.e. current events & politics). I love the reminder that I don't need to jump in assuming, or fill in the blanks for others, I simply just need to ask questions and have an open mind, and if help to fill in those blanks as needed (like the part in parenthesis above), we work through it together. It is SO hard sometimes, but when our first approach is found futile, we can make amends and try again. See more

Our Butterflies have all emerged! We checked as often as we could but still missed each of them emerge from their chrysalids, they're fast!

Our zucchini plant in our garden has been doing very well, so it's... ZUCCHINI BREAD TIME!

Ornament making time! I found the EASIEST recipe for homemade clay online, but it's so humid here these did not dry at all since yesterday! So I'm throwing them in the oven at 200 for an hour. Recipe: 2 C baking soda 1 C cornstarch... 1 1/2 C water Stir first two ingredients together in a pot, then cook over medium heat, gradually stirring in water until it gets to be the texture of thick frosting. Turn off heat, turn into cutting board dusted with cornstarch. keep stirring/kneading until it forms into clay. Mold as desired! We just can't get enough of our butterfly babies! This one's wings haven't fanned out yet, we're hoping she'll be able to fly soon! Fun fact: butterflies start trying to fly within a couple hours after emerging from their chrysalis!
