I am thankful every day for the life I've got, the privileges I have access to, the partner I have, the relationship I have with my mom, colleagues, and mentors and support that is here. I do not lose sight of how wonderful it is that I exist. This holiday is conflicting for me because of the subjugation held in the origin of Thanksgiving. I honor those who have come before me today and every day. I am thankful for the ability to learn about this land that I am living on, the... people who were here before my ancestors, to listen and learn from indigenous culture wisdom, to see the injustice that has occurred throughout time, and to bring light to it now. I am thankful to be grateful, blessed, and alive. I am thankful for the ability to use my voice to shed light on wrongs that have and continue to happen today. Family. We all have one, whether we are born into it or have created our own. We build our own family structure throughout a lifetime. Reflecting on this, especially during holiday time, can be a source of comfort and curiosity. Who are you connected to? How are you reaching out to loved ones and those you hold close this season? Pregnancy can be challenging for many people both physically and emotionally. We work with you to ease and/or eliminate your symptoms so you can experience the best pregnancy possible. Some of the conditions we commonly see are: Nausea Reduced appetite and or weight loss... Fatigue Insomnia Back and hip pain Gestational diabetes Elevated blood pressure Edema/swelling Lactation issue Postpartum depression Emotional issues that may arise like anxiety, stress, fear, worry We typically recommend acupuncture once a week for the first trimester, then once a month until your final months of pregnancy. Postpartum care is recommended for 3 months postpartum every week often in the form if housecalls. Consistent treatments in the pregnancy and postpartum period help us get ahead of the most common symptoms in this trimester as well as catch things before they get more severe.
