Dear Ladies, On Tuesday night March 11th ,the 9th of Adar the world lost a special soul. Rashi Minkowitz, beloved mother, wife, Chabad Rebbetzin and friend, ...died suddenly at the young age of 37, leaving behind 8 young children and a grieving community in North Fulton, Atlanta, where she served as a Chabad Shlucha. Rashi was a real powerhouse. She was incredibly dynamic, personable, warm and generous, and she impacted thousands of people worldwide with her love and acceptance. In addition to creating a vibrant, growing Jewish community, building and running a beautiful Mikvah, directing a very successful summer camp and Hebrew school and all the other programs she ran, Rashi taught a weekly women's class which she called "Torah & Tea". Rashi was bright and intelligent and taught Torah to hundreds of women throughout her 15 years of living in Atlanta. The Lubavitcher Rebbe taught us that we must turn pain into action, and so while I and my thousands of sister Shluchos mourn the tragic loss of Rashi and cry for her precious orphaned children, we are determined to continue her legacy and do even more Mitzvos to hasten the coming of Moshiach, when G-d will wipe away our bitter tears and we will be reunited with our loved ones. I join hundreds of my fellow Chabad Rebbetzins in renaming our weekly women's class to "Torah & Tea", as an everlasting tribute to Rashi. Please join us Monday morning 9:30am for our first official "Torah and Tea Class." Over the next 2 weeks the class will cover "PESACH PREP'! We will be discussing the spiritual and practical aspects of the upcoming holiday of Pesach. May G-d bring an end to this painful Galut (exile) and may we merit the coming of Moshiach, when Rashi will be reunited with her beloved children and all of us.
