I have been waiting 7 months to write this post. IRON GRILL is back. Seven months ago Iron Grill lost our chef, then some of our great servers left to follow their dream at their start up restaurant Morning Fork, with my encouragement and support. So, we rebuilt our service staff and added an extremely experienced manager with 20 years in the fine dining business to manage the training and supervision functions. ... A new Chef was added at the beginning of the year. He has 20 years plus experience in the kitchen. He is a French-Canadian, classically trained with experience in Continental and Asian cuisines. The combination of these key personnel shows in both superb service and food execution. Reviews have been great. Roxanne Obrien, well known caterer and head of head of the American River Culinary Academy, believes the addition of these two key people will take IRON GRILL to the top tier of fine dining restaurants in Sacramento. A delivery service has to provide a benefit worth paying for. So far they have used discounts from restaurants and restaurant chains to pay for the service (not us). Unfortun0ately, delivery really hurts the servers who would have gotten tips that now go to the delivery personnel, who do a lot less for their customers than a waiter or waitress. What is the value that they provide for the reallocation of restaurant and restaurant workers' income, very little if any.
