We just got home from a few days in a snowy cabin with our family and loved every moment of sitting by the fire, cooking and playing games, snowboarding (Dave) and sneaking in some reading time (Caitlin) These mundane moments together don’t happen often and we’ve realized this year more than ever the importance of being present in them. We hope you’ve enjoyed some restful moments with yours too One of our silver linings of 2020 was beginning to capture these precious and... fleeting moments on film for families something that has been in our hearts for awhile! We’ve fallen in love with creating family heirlooms for couples on their wedding days and are so excited about creating more for families as they grow! They are launching an awesome online workshop on making beautiful home videos with what you have (and no editing experience necessary!). This is an incredible tool for moms, dads, and anyone looking to turn their camera roll into something timeless for their family!

this is us, taking a pit stop to take in one of our favorite views after a special fall micro-wedding in carmel (hi julie & james!). this moment was one of those invitations to take a step back from life, recalibrate, breathe deep and say whoa, thank you. we hope you’ve had some of those this year too i know we aren’t alone when we say that everything kind of got flipped upside down this year (in both tough and wonderful ways) but we have learned and grown so much more i...n touch with ourselves and each other and that’s worth a lot. what is one of your biggest learnings (so far) from 2020? for us, we feel so much more in touch with our priorities and values than we did at the start of the year & are more sure than ever that this is what we love to do (and we love doing it together!). we also learned that we may not have a future as fiddle leaf fig parents (its a future we really wanted for ourselves but #yikes) and there is no sad moment that can’t be made better (and groovier) by cranking the song just the two of us by grover washington jr on max volume

Savanah and Hunter a story of two incredible humans becoming one, of unexplainable joy and hope amidst disappointment, and all of the intimate backyard wedding vibes our dreams are made of!! Like many 2020 couples, these two lost the wedding day they had originally planned and were faced with the tough decision of postponing, cancelling, or moving forward with a new & different plan in the final hour. Between navigating a wedding during a pandemic & all of the transitions & ...unknowns of military life, these two have endured much together and through it all have chosen and reflected abundant JOY. Savanah & Hunter are some of the most strong, steady & kind people we’ve been honored to know (individually but even more so together) and we were so honored to be a witness to their love and spend their day alongside them & their closest loved ones. As Savanah says, it was a celebration laced with God’s humor and grace and more perfect than any of us could have imagined. Emily & Calvin still bringing all the good vibes months after their day We didn’t know it at the time, but this wedding would be the last one we’d film before the whole world changed. Guys! We got to be a part of something so special last week we’ve been so excited to share We (virtually) attended the @californiaweddingday Best of 2020 event where we got to reconnect with our vendor friends and honor all of the hardworking people that make the California wedding industry so special. Watching the film @miguelgarciastudios put together showcasing fellow vendor stories from quarantine and reminiscing on the joy of wedding days nearly had us in tears! It wa...s one of those moments (that we seem to have often lately) where we were just in awe of humanity and all the love, kindness, creativity and unity we are capable of together. It was a much needed encouragement during a hard year for all of us! The icing on the cake from the event is that we had the incredible honor of winning Best 2020 Videographer for the San Luis Obispo region We are so deeply grateful to everyone who voted for us, to our amazing couples (we wouldn’t be here without you!) and to all our amazing vendor friends in SLO and beyond. Our name was just one amongst giants across the state, and the SLO vendor community has always been home to some of the most passionate, KIND, hardworking and talented people we know. They have shown us what it looks like to always make room at the table for others, and we’ve been so fortunate to grow and create alongside them over the years. Today we are sending our love and congrats to all of the @californiaweddingday Best of 2020 winners, and gratitude to all of you who have contributed to this award and supported us along the way!
