Scientists at the University of Louisville including Michael Menze, PhD and doctoral candidate, Robert Skolik, found that by replacing glucose with galactose in the cell culture medium, the cancerous liver cells that are predominantly used in toxicology studies during drug development, will more closely mimic a normal liver cell.
