Updated guidelines pave way for next generation of voting systems across the country. The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) has announced the adoption of the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG) 2.0, a major step toward improving the manufacturing and testing of voting machines. Senate Bill 29 is advancing in the legislature. This would extend existing law put in place ahead of the November 3, 2020 election. SB29 requires California county elections officials to mail a ballot to every registered voter and to use a specified Secretary of State vote by mail tracking system, or a system that meets the same specifications, for all elections conducted prior to January 1, 2022.

Inyo County Elections in the news! Normally, the registrar’s office could have reached out to a wide audience by advertising on Facebook. But Facebook had imposed a ban on new political ads in the week before the election, in an effort to combat misinformation, so Foote was limited to posting only on the county’s page.
