Please pray for Amy. I just saw the trailer for the movie "Breakthrough" which is based on a true story and it reminded me about the power of prayer. I haven't been strong in my faith and lately I have been feeling really down. But the other day, when I was really feeling so sorry for Amy, she told me not to feel bad because GOD has a good plan for us. I really admire her for being strong in her faith even though she's the one who's sick. So, I am requesting everyone to pleas...e pray for Amy as she will be undergoing surgery on Monday, June 10, to create a fistula (dialysis access) on her right arm. Her kidney's GFR is at 10 which is stage 5 (end stage) and she will need a kidney transplant. GOD can do the impossible and heal her current kidney (she was born with only one) but if that's not in accordance with HIS plan then we are requesting HIM to give Amy a perfectly matched kidney replacement and to keep her current kidney healthy enough until a replacement kidney can be available so that she won't even have to use the fistula and go on dialysis. We also pray every night that GOD will allow Amy and her donor to be healthy into their 90's :) Her two brothers are currently in the process of being tested. They have to undergo a number of tests to ensure that their kidney matches and that they are physically healthy & mentally ready to donate their kidney. Amy is blood type B+ and can only accept type B or type O kidneys. I am type A+ (and hypertensive) and Joy is type AB. We were encouraged to share our situation on social media because there may be someone out there who is willing to donate just in case her brothers do not match or are found to be ineligible (health issues, etc). Also, there may be others who may have a loved one who is close to going home to heaven and wishes to be a donor and they can request that Amy be a recipient of one of their kidneys when they finally go home to heaven. Dear friends in Christ, the new INTERNATIONAL EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH of SAN DIEGO (IELC-SD) is currently worshipping at the former Hope Lutheran Church building. Hope Lutheran Church had its last official church worship on August 26th after 55 years (1963-2018) of faithful service to the community. The Synod is hoping to sell the property to another church group and use the profit to fund GOD's work here in the U.S. and all over the world. In the meantime, some of the... remnants of Hope (for now, mostly Filipino members from the original Hope Lutheran Church congregation) have decided to continue worshipping under the guidance of Rev. Jogy Olivar and we have decided to name our group as the INTERNATIONAL EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH of SAN DIEGO (IELC-SD) to appeal to all nationalities. Please join us in worship starting at 10 am. If you're late, don't worry because we won't judge and we are firm believers of the saying "Better late than Never!" A wonderful surprise on May 6, 2018... a visit from one of the Charter Members of Hope Lutheran Church: Mrs. Loretta Pedrico. Faithfully supported her church spiritually & financially all these years even though she transferred to New York many years ago.
