APPEAL FOR ASSISTANCE The Red Cross has been sheltering 7 families who were evacuated from their homes during last week’s floods. Most of these families have children. The families need assistance in finding temporary rental housing for 2-3 months. in the National City area. The families have income for this and the Red Cross may also subsidize.... The greatest need is SHORT TERM (2-3 months) rentals until repairs can be completed. These families are facing Christmas in a shelter, so Gift Cards, certificates or a few nights in a hotel would also be very welcome. The families: 3 people (2 adults & 1 child) 4 people (1 adult and 3 children) 2 people (1 adult and 1 child) 7 people (2 adults, 1 senior, and 4 children) 7 people (1 adult and 6 children) 3 people (2 adults and 1 adult child) 2 people (1 adult and 1 adult child) Please share this with anyone who may be able to help. On Saturday December 15, Karl Ports, United Methodist Committee on Relief Team Leader, will work with a group from Huntington Beach to help finish (hopefully) our volunteer work in Fallbrook (Lilac Fire) at the Rancho Monserate Mobile Home park. If anyone is interested, you are invited and more than welcome to join us, the more the merrier and we may be able to finish? Today marks one year to the day that the fire tore through that community and it is very nice to see most ...of the survivors have returned to the park. Anyway if interested, let me know we will be at space 87 (Huntington Beach will usually arrive around 9:30-10am) Karl Ports UMCOR 619 823 8424 [email protected]
Thank you to all the agencies that responded to this fire. Thank you to all the agencies that responded to help all the people. Thank you to all the agencies that will continue to help all those who will feel the effects of this devastating event for years to come.
No matter how you celebrate, we wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving Day.

The Red Cross Safe and Well page allows you to see the status others in case of an emergency. Share this with family and make a Note in your cell phone (or other must go information IN CASE OF EMERGENCY) in case you need to do this.
As an interfaith community, we pray for our neighbors to the north as they experience the devastation of these wildfires.
