Job loss. Climate disaster. Quarantine and isolation. Schools in disarray. Dying in hospitals alone. Funerals with no guests. Grief on top of grief. The feel of warm sun on my skin. The memory of true love tingling up my spine. Working hand in hand for Black liberation and the human rights of all people. Planting in the soil. Cooking a new dish. Reading a novel or article with perfect sentences. Writing a poem. Watching movies with a friend. Singing loud and clear and strong. Karaoke! Swimming in a pool, river, lake, or sea. The cutest animals. The funniest children. Meditating. Sweet sweet quiet. The musical soundtrack to life. Even when you must forgo grace, when gratitude escapes you, when depression takes hold and there is more sorrow than joy I wish you balance. I wish for you the knowledge that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, that freedom is always available. I am reminding me as much as I am reminding whoever needs to hear it. #studsense
