Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad was the chief guest at the ‘Sirikona Kavitha Vasantotsavam’ held virtually from US. The ‘Sirikona Foundation’ was established to promote Telugu language & literature. Former Vice Chancellor of Dravida University Prof. Gangishetty Laxminarayana and other founding members and language lovers were present on the occasion. Dr. Lakshmi Parvati, Chairperson of Telugu Academy, Andhra Pradesh, Founding members Shri Venu Asuri, Shri Sri Charan etc., participated and rendition of their Telugu poems was the highlight of the session. Araku Coffee from India The Consulate General of India in association with Girijan Cooperative Corporation, Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh held a promotional event for Araku Valley Arabica Coffee on March 31, 2021 at Presidio & Concordia Club with the participation of Venture Capitalists, Hoteliers, Community leaders, Restaurants and ethnic media following Covid protocols. Araku Coffee is a GI tagged product from beautiful valley in the eastern ghats of Andhra Pradesh near V...ishakhapatnam at an elevation of about 3000ft. The Araku Coffee is already popular in France where it has won ‘Prix Epicures OR’, the first Indian coffee blend to have won such a prestigious honour. The valley is home to 150 different tribal communities of India, produce fruits, spices besides the unique coffee. Because of its characteristic aroma and qualities, the coffee got its Geographical Indication(GI) Tag in 2019. The tribal farmers use standard organic farming practices and they are being helped by TRIFED of Government of India and Girijan Cooperative Corporation both in production and marketing of this coffee. The Araku Coffee is available both in powder and instant coffee forms in USA in a limited way. We hope that the event will further promote Araku coffee in US. #Indiaat75 #girijan

Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Ashwathnarayan ji addressed the gathering followed by Consul General Amb. Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad’s keynote address. Dr. E.V.
