Have you ever wondered how your child’s skills measure up? Are you interested in finding out if they are on the right path, but don’t want them to go through testing? I can offer developmental assessments that are by parent interview (can be done by phone if you live far from H.B.!) I AM OFFERING A DISCOUNTED PRICE FOR HOMESCHOOL FAMILIES OF ONLY $100 FOR THE ENTIRE 3-4 HOUR ASSESSMENT! Other agencies offer the same assessment for $500 and up! This assessment will take... 1-2 hours of interviewing with a parent & 1-2 hours of processing by me. The assessment measures your child’s skills of Communication: receptive/expressive/written, Daily Living Skills: personal/domestic/community, Socialization: interpersonal relationships, play & leisure, coping skills, Motor Skills: gross/fine and Behaviors to find out where their strengths and deficits lie in comparison to other children of the same age. For some parents this is just a way to verify that they are on the right track, for some it is to finally pinpoint those areas which you feel are in need of additional support, and other parents just like the validation that what they are doing with their children is supporting their developmental needs. Homeschooling parents need time of their own to talk about issues you can't when your kids are around! You are a better parent when you take care of you. Take the time to nurture your own development and be there for friends who might have a lot more going on under the surface. HS parents need more emotional support than what we can give at a park day. Make time for you!
