Image Services, Inc. was asked to help the U-HAUL marketing team to transform this long forgotten building rear into a new advertising canvas for the rail line passengers who will be riding past this site several times a day in the not to distant future. What started out as a canvas banner project, turned into using metal, faux roll up doors to create the storage unit look, along with reversed aluminum channel letters & changeable graphics. For the past several years, the p...eople commuting to/from the LA area from the Inland Empire were always faced with the last stop at San Bernardino's Santa Fe Depot. However, thanks to the current construction project that is due to be completed in 2022, passengers will have an extra (5) five stops over (9) nine new miles of track from the San Bernardino station to the University of Redlands stop. This morning, Image Services, Inc. was in the land of breakfast burritos and pancakes! We found ourselves visiting the site of one of our long time franchisee customers at Farmer Boys Restaurant in Covina, CA. As what I hope is a sign of things trying to get back to normal, this site asked us to come and get their signs and exterior lighting back up to 100%, after waiting for their business to get back up for the past few months. As you can see in the accompanying pictures, ...we worked on all of the existing fluorescent & H.I.D. lighting for both advertising and security items. With all of the LED and electrical work that we find ourselves doing these days, it was kind of nice to dig into the repair of the classic lighting systems that our company was originally built upon. Beaver Medical Group, a multi-location medical care provider throughout the Inland Empire, has now started some operations at their newest facility in Beaumont, CA. This new site offers a variety of services, and they asked Image Services, Inc. to help identify their new building with exterior, LED illuminated channel letters for the main office, as well as the Urgent Care. Just prior to the start of the current San Bernardino Mountain fires, Image Services, Inc. technicians were up in Lake Arrowhead keeping the local 7-11 illuminated with the installation of some quaint "goose neck" light fixtures. The city tries to keep a mountain look on most businesses, so these sand blasted signs with external lighting, creates a rural feel, yet lights up the familiar "7 ELEVEN" that screams big city convenience store! Our two licenses, electrical & signs, ...came together for us to provide new, powder coated, LED fixtures to replace the failed, decades old ones that had been damaged. Do you remember the first time that you went to In-N-Out Burger, visited the Pinterest site, went to Disneyland? Okay, so maybe I am being a bit dramatic, however, I visited Hobby Lobby personally for the first time as we were gearing up for a large, multi-location electrical project that we were awarded for many of their SoCal stores. Sure, I have seen charges to our household bank account every day since they opened a store by my house.... but I had no idea about all of the... cool stuff, for guys & gals, that they offer in those stores! Image Services, Inc. was hired to relocate the "lamp counter", where they display all of their interior lamps; their Christmas Tree displays, yes their trees are going up in August; and various power pole re-locations throughout the store. Hobby Lobby's construction electricians really know how to bend a nice looking rack of pipe, so it was a personal challenge to make our new conduits blend right in. Between aesthetics and working during store business hours, this ongoing project is both challenging and rewarding. Image Services, Inc. was asked to re-brand this site in San Bernardino, CA. However, Verizon halted construction activity in our area during the past couple of months of Governor Newsom's shutdown. Fortunately, Verizon cut us loose just long enough to sneak in a couple of new sets of building LED channel letters and two 100' tall, flexible pole sign faces. I mean, after toilet paper & bread, a working mobile device ranks pretty high on most people's pandemic list.. and these ...new signs definitely point you in the right direction. While things were attempting to get back to normal, another shutdown of several business types was implemented this week. What better time to do improvements to the Pasadena City College Library than when they are closed for a pandemic? Image Services, Inc. installed these dimensional directional signs at the interior of the bibliographical building - yes, we learned the word "bibliographical" while on site :) . Once we finished drilling, and the librarian stopped "shushing" us, we installed these two sets of multi-layer, directional signage at their staircase landings. We were able to to partic...ipate in this project due to the fact that we have the required "DIR - Department of Industrial Relations" license to work for State entities. Interior signage is a great way to inexpensively help with the flow of foot traffic, as well as sprucing up common areas and lobbies. This week, Image Services, Inc. was in Riverside, CA, working on the flag of the greatest nation on the planet Earth, Old Glory. Our boom trucks are most commonly used for sign and parking lot lighting installation & repair, however, we do get the call to restore ropes, pulleys and lighting for the Stars & Stripes every so often. Traditional guidelines call for displaying the flag in public only from sunrise to sunset. However, the flag may be displayed at all times if it’s illuminated during darkness. There are many items of etiquette to learn and adhere to before raising the flag, so read up before moving forward. One thing that does not change during "safer at home" orders is that there still must be parking lot & security lighting! Fortunately for this shopping center in the Low Desert city of Hemet, California, Image Services, Inc. make ourselves available when the call comes. This location had a parking lot light pole hit by a vehicle, and then all of their copper wiring vandalized & stolen by vagrants. So began the process of structural engineering the concrete footing, obtaining ...the city required permits and installing a new pole and LED fixtures for all of the parking lot light fixtures at this property. While not fans of working on electrical wiring in the rain, sometimes, you just have to put on your big boy rain pants and get it done! As it is said, "timing is everything". Just this week, we were able to finish the sign project for the new Cardinal Health location in Riverside, CA. Cardinal Health, Inc. is an American multinational health care services company that finished construction on their massive new warehouse facility. The new hub will provide greatly needed medical products for a large variety of uses throughout the area. Image Services, Inc. installed a non-illuminated monument sign, along with front & reverse lit, building mounted channel letters. This week, we were doing our regular security lighting maintenance at one of our State's detention centers to keep employees, visitors and "temporary residents" safely illuminated. Venice, California is home to one the most filmed and visited boardwalks, Muscle Beach & enthusiastic art population; it also is a very popular place for many of the Southern California homeless. That is where St. Joseph Center comes in! Their mission is to provide working poor families, as well as homeless men, women and children of all ages, with the inner resources and tools to become productive, stable and self-supporting members of the community. In order to do that, the...y need lots of light in their two main parking areas, so they called Image Services, Inc. to get approximately a dozen of their pole mounted parking lot lights back up and illuminating the good work that they do there. Again, we find ourselves in the San Bernardino County High Desert; this time in the city of Barstow, CA. Like many Southern Californians, I am familiar with Barstow as our restroom/ In-N-Out Burger break on the way to Vegas! Others know it for the military installations and off-road vehicle riding. It turns out that there are much more important things going on in Barstow at a place called "A Greater Hope - Adoption - Foster Care - Counseling". Greater Hope Foundation for Chi...ldren is a nationally accredited community based organization serving hundreds of at-risk adults, vulnerable children and heroic resource (foster) families each year. A Greater Hope provides treatment foster care and adoption, therapeutic counseling, rehabilitative mental health services, and family preservation services. To help beautify their Barstow office, they asked Image Services, Inc. to utilize their existing structural steel and create a new monument sign to welcome visitors. We designed a sign that utilized architectural characteristics from their building and were able permit, manufacture & install it using their existing footings & steel; saving this non-profit several hundred dollars! This week we were in the "High Desert" Hesperia/ Victorville area enjoying the Arctic cold that is their winter weather! Our crew braved the 40 & 50 degree weather to help make certain that this newly remodeled SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western was able to have the signs up by their original deadline. This customer has spent several months refurbishing everything to meet the new franchise standards, and Image Services, Inc. was there to put the finishing touches, exterior signage, in place. Our crew removed the old sign cabinets and installed one new 8' x 8' LED, wall cabinet & one new 11' x 11' LED, pole mounted cabinet. As you can see in the pics below, it "Sure" was a noticeable transformation! Yes, that is a new truck with crane capabilities that you see in the pic, however, more on that in future posts.

After initially working with a chain/franchise "sign" shop better known for stickers and banners that couldn't get it done, we were asked to come in relief to make this happen- and we did!. After our permit specialist worked with the city on the engineering and allowances, we ended up installing the (2) 7' x 16' exterior pan faces with dimensional letters, as wel...l as the stainless interior lobby signage for the end user, TEAM, that is located in Harbor City - a neighborhood of Los Angeles. Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Camille's is a national chain of (30) casual dining eateries that needed a budget conscience, non-illuminated day time sign for their "sidewalk cafe". Image Services, Inc. helped out with this design using acrylic "fco"(flat cut out) lettering that is mounted to a contoured aluminum backer panel, for contrast. In this instance, less is more and their simple but tasteful sign really makes the outdoor dining vibe work.
