The annual Rising Stars Networking workshop and luncheon in Little Tokyo this weekend drew 15 incredible students this year, all part of the Rising Stars Youth Leadership Program.

Just completed facilitating our annual networking workshop for 24 amazing students of the Rising Stars Youth Leadership Program, followed by a networking luncheon where the students practiced what they learned meeting guests from all different fields and backgrounds.

What is your God-given dream? How has God uniquely designed you to love others? You are created for a specific purpose. Do you know what that is?

"Are you a doctor or a healer?" I asked my wife this when she was just starting her career as a physician. After a moment of silence she asked "Is there a difference? I practice medicine and have always wanted to be a doctor to help people". I told her "you may think that being a doctor is your job, career or even your identity but you are much more. You are a healer, with the gift of compassion and healing. God has called you to help restore broken people and give them hope so they can experience physical, emotional and spiritual freedom in Christ." Fifteen years and several God encounters later she sees herself as a healer and lives out her calling daily by bringing God's healing touch, her medical skills, and her gift of mercy to whoever God brings her that day whether it's a patient, a neighbor, a stranger, a friend, or her family.

When your hope grows thin and the vision for what God has implanted seems blurry remember we serve a all powerful God

Remembering today all the courageous and selfless heroes that died in 9/11 and their families. Thank you Lord that in the midst of horrible tragedies, setbacks, and devastation, You are good, you are always for us, you give us beauty for ashes, and you still have a vision, calling, and plan for our lives. We put our faith and trust in you God!
