I never thought about doing THAT with a plunger. This is pretty funny... Thanks Gigi Kramer!

It was soothing to hear Kai Van Bodhi sharing his knowledge today. His short meditation, which included some wonderful focus on the breath, was short and sweet but so helpful.

Distance gazing. I’ve been noticing that I am looking at things close-up a lot, now that we are hunkering in. So, I have been spending time consciously looking at things far away or at least at a range greater than 20’. How about you? Are you looking at things close-up a lot?... After an online Feldenkrais class with Julie at Moving Lively a few days ago, I became more aware of my eyes (we did an eye lesson), which reminded me to give my eyes more things to look at that are farther away. As one of my favorite resources, the ever-wise Katy Bowman, biomechanist and teacher writes, Looking at far away places or gazing at layers of trees upon hills all utilize different muscle patterns than looking at computers and books and iPhones and Kindles. This can help with tension in the eyes. (For more, google the eyes have it.) I love to do my own action research and test out ideas like this. I can say that when I am consciously distance gazing, I feel calmer and more relaxed. The muscles in my face relax which helps the muscles in my neck relax. (And when I go out outside to distance gaze, into the cold air, my vagus nerve is affected...but that’s a whole other thing.)I feel good. And that’s a good thing. Here’s my most recent distance gazing moment out the back door. In the live version, I can see more than we can in the video. I can look out onto the farthest tree in the live version. So. Maybe you have a window. Maybe you can get outside. Either way, what’s the farthest thing you can see? Post a video or picture of your view in the comments. #nutritiousmovement #feldenkrais #keepmoving #theeyeshaveit #outdoorvisionrelaxation

To all my dear clients, I have decided to close my studio until the time is right to re-open. This is only temporary. If you have an urgent issue, please contact me. I will be seeing clients privately on-line for self-treatment instruction and guidance. May we all stay healthy, resilient, patient and optimistic through this unique time in our lives.
