A lot of artists encounter blonde lashes which can get very cumbersome to lash. . These are quick tip to make lash extensions application easy . Understanding Blonde hair color. Blonde is a pigment of brown lacking red and green intensity which makes it translucent and light. A lash artist can do a few things to make sure each lash hair appears lashable to naked eyes. Use a green , light or darker tape over the gel pad. Some manufacturers also make light green gel pads ...that make the job easier If green is not available, use a pink or red tape . Some manufacturers make pink gel pads as well that can take an extra step away from preparing to lash Tint eyelashes a day before ( if your State allows it). It is not recommended to process a tint and lash application the same day, due to chemicals involved Use a yellow light or lamp to increase visibility to light hair. Most artists use white light to illuminate their work area which creates more reflective and brighter feel of lashes. Yellow light gets absorbed in hair shaft to make it appear darker _____________________ Join my style ash extensions classes to really learn the tricks and skill of lash application Next class in May 8th in Walnut Creek May 9th in Brentwood. *** Educational Post** ( Feel free to share the context on your page, don’t forget to tag @icandy.academy ) Over the last 15 years , I have seen every conidtion that arises due to lash extensions. I have learned to identify them based on certain key symptoms. I do find it hard to see that mant lash artists that see redness around eyes, or skin attribute it instantly to ALLERGIES This is not the case. I will break down 3 major categories of 1. Reactions... 2. Infections 3. Allergies _______________________________ Reactions: Usually this category of concerns can be fixed with vigilance and proper education. Improper gel pad/tap application creates redness, burn or itch around the bottom periphery of lash line. This can be easily rectified, if on your visits, just request your artist to place the gel pad AWAY from cornea. If you feel slightest burn, stop the aristis and identify the feeling. Tape or Gel Pad rash, is a burning sensation on the skin that can occur a few hours after the service. If this occurs, inform your artist to apply less sticky tape or add a moisturizer before tape application Burn feel or watery eyes can also be during the application, even if the pad or tape is attached properly. This is because fumes of the glue are making their way to your cornea and exothermic reation of the glue is burning your corneal layer. Identify the issue immediately . Too string fumes can also be due to high amount of formaldehyde in the lash glue. As Lash Artist it is recommended to purchase your glue from credible supplier only. Formaldehyde burn can cause lash follicle to fall out and eyes to secrete pus like drops due to irritated follicle or clogged pores. _______________________________ Infections Lash hygiene is SO SO IMPORTANT. Main concerns are BLEPHARITIS. This can easily be reversed but is a painful process of recovery. You may need to take 7-14 days break and resume wearing lashes after a course of antibiotics. Pink Eye or Conjunctivitis is an infection of conjunctiva ( outer membrane of cornea , a transmittable bacteria can cause eyes to be red itchy and swollen. As Lash Artists we have a responsibility to practice safe

I get this question often. Why do I need a touch up in 5-6 weeks.? Every skin type is different, every body chemistry is unique, every person has a different lifestyle. Some of the factors that affect color assimilation are Lifestyle Age Factor ... Metabolism Medication (if any ) Immune response Sun Exposure Diet skin type It is very hard to predict how your body would handle pigment based on all these factors. This is why we require a touch up in 5 weeks. ..... why 5 weeks???? Let me explain, body has a unique way of responding to a foreign particle in the system. The first response is immune cells attacking the pigment to break it down and transporting it to lymphatic system. Macrophages eat the pigment up the first week and when pigment heals the first week it is very light. The color resurfaces the second week in some cases even third week and that is what healing process is. Because body takes longer to heal the epidermis, we do not suggest opening of the same area with in 5 weeks. Some times pigment changed its hue as it settles ( an experienced artist would know color theory well to know which pigment tone to use based on your skin type) . When a client returns in 5 weeks, we assess the pigment saturation at that point and I call it PERFECTION VISIT and we re saturate the color. This time it’s tuned to stay longer. Some skin types respond to needles in a much inflammatory way, which is ok, we make sure upon healing which areas to target. It is not a fair statement to say the color will last years , well... it might but not in an even manner. Some clients don’t need a touch up in 5 weeks, but may in 15 weeks. Just slow immune response. . That is why we suggest a follow up in 5 weeks and every year from there on! . Book your perfection visits expecting that you may need it. If you don’t, I send clients home to follow up in 15 weeks . I go over all these processes during my training classes. WORKING WITH ALL EYE SHAPES Let’s be honest, Are all eyes that we lash artists work on are easy? Some of the terminology that we don’t even see or is used in the lash artistry world, is the real challenge that we as lash artists encounter. My Goal is to break down almost every challenge that I have encountered in 15 years of my lash career and show you how to overcome some challenges. It is very easy to work on uplifted naturally younger lash line. The challenge is when lashe...s are applied on types of eyelids that I have shown in pictures above. Have you heard as to my lashes fell off in the center or I can’t keep lashes in the inner corner of my eyes ever? Sounds familiar? And we as lash artists keep on buying one glue or the other, perhaps tamper with our humidity and temperature in our room almost for every client trying to figure out WHY? PICTURE 1 Please review the physiology of an eye, some terms are necessary to know as lash artist and almost knowing tear ducts, folds and placement of human eye is imperative. PICTURE 2 Look at the way our skin folds on our lash line. Some eyes are challenging than others due to the fact that the skin sits on lash line and making your artistic application almost impossible to enhance eyes. As lash artists we are SUPPOSED to know when we see an eye , the emphasis of skin fold on lash line so that we can create a customized appearance PICTURE 3-7 Let’s face it, not everyone gets perfect shaped eyes at all times. My clientele is a variance of 28-70 years old and almost all ethnicities. Clients I saw 10 years ago have aged and their eyes are different requiring different application. In almost all trainings the importance of using medical tape during application is emphasized. Well... lets face it, that is not the only solution ____________________________ In upcoming days I will be dropping articles on almost every eye shape I have come across and the limitations that I had to over come them. ( SOME EXAMPLES ATTACHED) . Some application will be added on my website as a collection for your review. . Dear Lash Artists Did you know? The total size of nose opening is equal to the opening of eyes. A scientific fact! Very Rare occasions especially is rhinoplasty is used to create a smaller nose there may be a difference. This is best way to visually used to create eyes that enhance face features more and create a more balanced look... PLACEMENTS TO CREATE FOR CERTAIN EYES AND NOSE BONE STRUCTURES. * If nose is longer, create an OPEN eye effect, that will make nose bone look less protruding and softer * If nose is rounded at the tip, CAT eye effect is used to create a more balanced softer appearing nose * For Asian eyes, the most versatile DOLL/NATURAL graduation is recommended. This make eyes look bigger and accentuates the nose bone * For wider nose bone structure, stay away from LONG Lashes, use very natural length to keep nose looking prominent too. * A wider nose will most often accompany big eyes, keep over all soft appearance and use softer curls. Avoid D,DD L+. SQUIRREL EYE look recommended. ________________________________________________________________________ To create visually enhanced look with eyelash extensions Study Facial Harmony Prominent features that need either enhancement or softness Balanced Relationship of eyes nose and brows Using various curls when placements are harder to decide Not to mix curls that don’t blend ( create more natural graduation) ____________________________________________________________ #eyelashartistry #eye #science #nose #facialcontouring #faceshapes #eyes #lashextensions #lashartistry #harmony #bayarea #texas #coldplay #beautycreated #lashesonfleek #lashartist #lashartistry #greatness

I always say, Lash Artistry is not a 1 day class, but a journey of series’s of education. I wouldn’t want it another way but to be a guide and help for most of my fellow artists . . During my 14 years as a lash artist, especially the one who is constantly learning and breaking down artistry to it its core, I have compiled a series of pointers and guides to assist my student in learning in depth. Some of the challenges that I have encountered are... -Styling eyes -Understanding products and their chemistry -Placement of various curls and what suites which eye shape the best -Working with challenging eye shapes -Creating a seamless transition of curls -Tweezers to use and which ones are best for what type of application? . . This industry has not even seen its peak yet and there is a lot of independent study that many lash artists are going through to perfect their craft. . Stay tuned as I drop an article on all the listed challenges that WE lash artists encounter. ... Entrepreneurship is a calling from the dark. A voice from the deep well of your spirit. An optimist would say the glass is half full. A pessimist would say it's half empty. An entrepreneur would rise up and ask, "How can I drink from it, sell it, or use it for a higher purpose?" Therefore, entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business or owning a company.... It's about capitalising on opportunities with the least possible resources. Serving a higher cause, developing win-win relationships, and achieving best possible results. MU with a comprehensive curriculum in both Austin Texas and Bay Area . The journey of 2020 has nothing but a challenge for many of us, for me starting from a fire ( store burn down) in Walnut Creek, cranking back in locations to state ordered shut down for 8 months. But I have come to a realization. The more I inspire to learn the more I want to teach . I recently got licensed as a laser tech in state of Texas with specialty in tattoo removal , my goal is to create an amazing PMU clinic that offers pigment reversal as well. I believe we as individuals should never stop growing. I was super depressed when I was not allowed to do what I loved doing. I was angry at myself for several reasons that why did my business not go the way I planned , due to COVID, but in all honesty I went in my little space to figure out what is my next step? I am. a very shy person who really doesn’t like to talk about myself or be in light for attention. I think it’s important to break out of this shell and discover my new frontiers. To all future and present entrepreneurs -Everything around you starts with a dream. The world around you is created and re-created by dreamers. -The world has always been drawn to and will always be drawn to a compelling cause -Press on next level of growth -Be a dreamer, then a doer and then achiever. In short, as a dream-chaser, value-multiplier, pacesetter, and change-maker lies the spirit of entrepreneurship.
