This is a renovation of existing late sixties track house. The house is situated in Napa County surrounded by vineyards on a double lot. The existing spaces were very small, contained rooms, with low ceilings, giving the house a very enclosed feeling. We removed the walls in the public spaces, between the kitchen, dining, and living rooms to create a single open space, and optimized ceiling height by removing the existing 8 foot ceilings. The windows facing the large landscaped areas were removed and replaced with sliding doors. A wrap around deck was installed to optimize the inside-outside experience. We extended the new roof plane beyond through the outdoor patio area, creating a terrace and louver screen privacy wall.

This was a major remodel of a house in Tiburon, California Sitting at the edge of the bay on the water’s edge. The site offers sweeping views for miles beyond. We took this project down to studs, replaced all of the exterior doors and windows, the deck, kitchen, and bathrooms. By extending the floor and ceiling materials through the planes of glass, we extended the interior into the exterior, creating a sense of continuity from the interior to the site beyond. The result is an environment totally designed, from door hinges to casework and lighting.

This project is new construction of a 208 room hotel for Pacific Hotel Management. We designed custom guestrooms and public spaces, including lobbies, bar, restaurant, and meeting rooms. The concept was to reference the natural surroundings, while connecting to the architectural history of the Monterey Peninsula, which include Craftsman, Mission, and Asian influences. The project opens in late May 2008

This project involved designing a new restaurant in an existing 1920’s industrial building in San Francisco’s south of Market area. The objective was to create a space that enhanced the rich textures of the original structure while fitting in the new program to appear as if it had always been there. The new elements are simple and honest in origin. We worked closely on all design elements with the owners who wanted the restaurant to convey an atmosphere of warmth, comfort, and irony.

his project is a 5500 sq. ft. client presentation space for the business solutions company Exigen. With panoramic views of the city, the use of glass walls allow views from the core of the space through the multipurpose rooms located on the perimeter corners. Mecco shade material has been laminated between some of the glass panels to serve as a privacy filter, while allowing light into the core. Wooden slat ceilings allow access to the hidden mechanical equipment above, while... providing warmth and acoustic control. The client required facilities that allowed two multi-media presentation spaces to operate simultaneously. The presentation spaces feature multiple projectors, banquette seating, and interactive substations. The four corners were utilized as conference, dining, and lounge areas. The reception area and a large catering kitchen are located between these rooms.
