In the middle of where Cressman’s used to stand we’ve placed this tree. We encourage the community to stop by and help us decorate it. Have fun, take pictures and don’t forget to tag us!

Power line work continues!

Huntington Lake, CA 05.10.2020

FINALLY! We have some light snowfall at the lake. Cleanup and power line works continues all around the lake. Nothing but the sound of chainsaws and chippers. Be careful on the roads. There will be mudslides this winter.

New Winter Storm Map Identifies Creek Fire Risk Zones The County of Fresno and the Sheriff's Department have released a new map to help identify areas that coul...d experience dangerous mudslides and flooding. Enter an address to see the different risk levels in your area. Yellow indicates High Risk and red indicates Extreme Risk. If a storm occurs, the map will activate to display evacuation zones. These areas will be listed under three headings: Evacuate, Warning and No Evacuation. #CreekFire update for Thursday, November 5. For a downloadable PDF version of the update, go to https://inciweb.nwcg.gov//relate/pict20201005-090934-0.pdf In...cident Start Date: Sept. 4, 2020 Cause: Under Investigation; Acres: 379,335 Containment: 70% Expected Full Containment Date: 11/15/2020; Engines: 11 Hand Crews: 16 Dozers: 9 Helicopters: 6 Water Tenders: 33 Total Personnel: 846 Firefighter injuries: 27 Structures threatened: 105 Structures Destroyed: 856 Structures Damaged: 71 Current Situation Fire managers are preparing for a dramatic weather change starting tomorrow night that will generate strong southwest winds. The winds, combined with critically dry fuels and low relative humidity, will produce elevated fire danger across the fire. The winds are forecast to begin late Thursday night and continue into Friday morning. Gusts of 40 mph across ridgetops are expected by Friday morning. Fire Activity The fire continues to be active in the northeast corner east of Pond Lily Lake and the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River, about 6 miles southwest of Mammoth. There was about a 500-acre increase in acreage on Wednesday in that area and there will likely be continued growth and smoke in that area until some kind of season-ending weather event. The fire was moving east and south on Wednesday and remains about 6 miles from the community of Mammoth. Fire growth in that area continues to be monitored by air, ground and satellite. The majority of the fire there is confined by large expanses of exposed rock. A 14-person suppression module from Inyo National Forest has been getting flown into or hiking into the area each day to monitor the fire and scout for opportunities to build contingency line in the event the fire moves to the northeast. Two more crews and two engines will be prepositioned in Mammoth on Thursday in anticipation of the wind event. Crews have pulled out of the area just north of Lake Thomas A. Edison after completing work there and no significant heat was detected in that area on Wednesday. Suppression Repair Crews and heavy equipment operators completed repair on an additional 30-plus miles of fireline Wednesday, bringing the total number of miles of repaired fireline to approximately 430. Crews have another 140 miles of repair work to complete. More than 80 pieces of heavy equipment are working to repair lines. Weather The season’s first strong cold front will move into the area Friday, bringing a much colder air mass and moisture that should help mellow fire behavior on active parts of the fire. The cold blast will drop temperatures into the 30s and 40s over the weekend and is expected to bring rain to lower elevations and snow to higher elevations. Periods of rain and snow are expected Friday with some passing snow showers Saturday across higher elevations.
