Carcaño will join the Young People from around the California-Nevada Conference with the members of the Conference Committee on Young People's Ministry to host an election eve gathering tonight, November 2nd, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. PDT. The gathering is designed to be a time of rest and reflection for youth and young adults, and folks of all ages who are facing the challenges of living their lives in this time of pande...mic and during this most difficult election season. Bishop Minerva and many of our young leaders will guide us in a time of worship and sharing in a meeting styled zoom which allows for more community building than the more traditional webinar/lecture style of zoom gatherings. Hillsdale United Methodist Church remembers Pastor Saia Faasisila Saia Lotulelei Faasisila passed away on September 26, 2020. Saia was a proactive member of Hillsdale UMC. His roles at Hillsdale included Setuata (Tongan Steward) and Choir Director for the Tongan Choir. After completing seminary, Saia was called into God’s ministry and served several UMC churches in the Bay Area for the next 20 years. His last appointment was Pastor at St. Andrews United Methodist Church in ...Palo Alto, California. Pastor Saia Faasisila will always be remembered as a leader of the community, a powerful preacher, an advocate for youth, a spiritual guide, a talented singer, and a bridge of trust for Tongans and non-Tongans. Saia is survived by his wife Toloa, daughters Lina, Rosanna, and Meleane, many grandchildren, siblings, and an extended network of family and friends. A private family service was held on October 8, 2020. Brothers and sisters in Christ, please feel free to share your memories of Saia and lift your prayers for the Faasisila family.
