UPDATED to reflect Orange Tier Guidelines. You all know we love being Social. We also love being safe and considerate. So here’s a reminder of how we do things around here: 1) We can accommodate groups of up to 8 inside the Jetty, Lobby Bar and the Hangar. Groups larger than that may enjoy our Fire Pits and outdoor picnic tables. 2) RESERVATIONS. We are now accepting reservations for groups over 25. Email [email protected] to make a reservation! ... Please don’t bring your large groups (over 25) out here with a reservation. We’ve been very accommodating, but we will be asking groups to leave. 2) PACK OUT YOUR TRASH. Our bins can hold the trash and recycling that our business produces. If you bring food or items from home, you must pack out the packaging and trash that comes with that. We are happy to provide trash bags. 3) NO MICROTRASH. Confetti, balloons, and glitter kill our dunes. Don’t bring them here. 4) SHARE. Our firepits and Hangar are community spaces. By all means set up your table and a grill. Maintain 6 feet of distance from other groups, wear your masks and consolidate your stuff. We hate to lecture you all. So be nice, K? See more

We are thrilled to announce the beginning of our 4th Artist Residency at the Social Club. @mskycreative is a Los Angeles (and now Humboldt) based artist who begun her career painting landscapes at the age of 14. Born in Canada and raised in LA, she first discovered her love of art when she was in elementary school and promptly started to take art classes at Mission Renaissance Fine Arts school. She paints with bright colors freely and imperfectly. -She is a Los Angeles Art Battle winner and is now filling out Art Studio with her canvases and paints. Catch a glimpse of her at work this Spring!

Q: What’s the weather in like Humboldt this time of year? A: Plan for both winter and summer weather, alternating through the day. Pack a puffy jacket, rain gear, shorts, flip flops, boots, tank tops, scarves and sunglasses. That should cover it. ~ p| @jj_koolj

Democracy is organizers like @fairfightaction and @conmijente mobilizing an unprecedented voter turnout in Georgia. ~Democracy is also angry, consistent disruption of daily life to send clear messages to power brokers to demand equal rights and protections under the law. ~Democracy is NOT cosplaying vigilantes using violence and White privilege to spread fear and conspiracy theories because they don’t like the results of democracy. ~It is devastating to see the leeway the...se vigilantes were granted in our Nation’s capital and my hometown. We remain steadfast in our belief that this country can change, and that the heroes we need are among us. p| @staceyabrams

Over the past year, we’ve been approached by multiple businesses and entrepreneurs about the idea of holding Drive-In Movies at the Social Club. It’s a great idea, right? But ideas are cheap. Logistics and execution are complicated. The one who is actually making happen? Our very own @albythere! We are thrilled to collaborate with her @driveincinema_humco and just so freaking impressed with this one. Give them a follow to stay updated, and we’ll see y’all soon.
