HSU Alternative Transportation Fair Tuesday, August 20th and Thursday, August 22nd 9:00 am 10:00am Redwood Bowl Plaza FREE... The HSU Office of Sustainability and Parking Services are hosting a fair to promote alternative transportation options and resources to the campus community. The event will showcase Zagster bike share, ZipCar car share, ZimRide ride share, electric vehicle display, HSU Cycling Club and bike repair demos, and community groups offering information and resources. Attendees can also learn about Jack Pass bus service, Homeward Bound, and preferential parking for carpools. Bike maps, discounts, demos and fun giveaways! Plaza Avenue Repaving July 30 - August 1 Facilities Management has scheduled the repaving of Plaza Ave (Library Circle) beginning on Tuesday, July 30th with an estimated completion date of Thursday, August 1st. During this time, the campus community can expect the following:... Heavy equipment noises and increased truck traffic around the Plaza. Access to parking lot FS6 will require an alternate route off of Laurel Drive. Mill Street will be closed. The bus stop at Library Circle will be closed and bus traffic will be re-routed to the bus stop at 14th & B St Access to Sunset/Redwood Residence Hall will be limited to pedestrian traffic. Parking Lot Improvements in G14, G15, FS10 and R2 During this time;Thursday, July 18th and Friday, August 16th the campus community can expect the following: Heavy equipment noises and increased truck traffic in the affected parking lot work areas as well as detoured vehicle and pedestrian traffic.... At times access into G14 will be blocked off. Additional drop off locations for the Children's Center will be set up in G15. The northern most section of G15 will be blocked. At times access into G12 from Rossow will be blocked off. G12 can be accessed from B St. A large area of FS10 will be repaved. The lot will be closed during the scheduled work. Facilities will be working with contractors to schedule the improvements at each location. Signage will be posted in advance to alert the campus community of the proposed schedule. Heads up: The City of Arcata will be installing a new concrete pad for an ADA-accessible bus stop at Library Circle. Work starts next week and everything should be completed by 7/12/19 (Friday). Redwood Coast Transit Partners with Students! Starting in the Summer of 2018, RCTA began its partnership with College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University that enables all COR and HSU students to ride any RCTA Fixed Route bus for FREE using their current student ID cards! RCTA has obtained grant funding to enable this partnership to launch and is excited to announce the 2nd year of this program will begin with Summer Semester 2019! Just get your student ID card showing current semester enrollment and ride RCTA for FREE!
