San Francisco Committee member Travis Bias has published an essay in the new book, Barefoot Global Health Diplomacy. Titled "The 'Global Health' Martyr," Travis writes about decolonizing the field of global health and how "martyrdom" can be counterproductive to the goal of improving health for all. You can read his thought-provoking essay below.

Thank you to San Francisco Committee member and artist Tracy Ferron for advocating on behalf of incarcerated individuals with her art at the march and rally at San Quentin State Prison. Marchers and family members presented 69 heart wing sculptures in honor of the 69 inmates who have died in CA prisons due to state negligence. The family members and activists each held winged hearts up at the San Quentin gates in a vigil to remember the lives lost. We hope those who are able can join the follow up rally, #AllRise Women’s March, in Sacramento this Saturday, Oct. 17th.
