Lost on how to coordinate your flooring and countertops? Keep these tips in mind: 1 Start with picking your choices for the countertop! It’s much easier to coordinate your flooring to your countertop than the other way around. This also allows for some flexibility in the styles you choose. 2 Think of the rule of threes: 2 dominant colors + 1 complementary, accent color.... 3 Though it’s great to do something unique, don’t push yourself to be too adventurous with your choices. You want your flooring and countertops to be timeless. Instead, choose one wall of backsplash, for example, to be your statement element. Do you have anything else to add that wasn’t mentioned?

Architecture is art! There is nothing I love more than a well preserved 1920’s or 1930’s Spanish home. If you are on the hunt for one, let me know and I will keep an eye out for you. You know the old saying when it rains, look for real estate! But if you’d still rather look for rainbows, then hopefully it leads to a great piece of property.

Planning on buying a home this Spring? Don’t forget these tips that can set you up for the best success: 1 If you find a home that you love, don’t hesitate place a bid. Springtime marks the beginning of the busy season for real estate, so you don’t want to risk losing your dream home to another buyer. 2 Get pre-approved. This is an important step no matter what season you’re buying in, but Spring is a highly competitive time of the year. Getting pre-approved early will ...help streamline the buying process. 3 Hire a real estate agent. Because it’s a busy time of the year, hiring a real estate agent especially one that knows the area will be the key to your success (and sanity). 4 Focus on the motto of real estate: Location, location, location! If you like the location and you like the house, despite whatever decor the homeowners chose, then don’t sleep on the home and place your bid! 5 Have all your documents in order. This will also streamline the home-buying process it can be a long and arduous process, especially during Spring. Having everything prepared will fast-track the process. Do you have any other tips to add?

Can you guess what a real estate agent’s favorite word is? Hint: Anyone can become one, and it’s not referrals (even though that’s a VERY close second ).

If you stepped into a home and saw 1 feature that makes you instantly turn the other direction, what would that feature be? For example, is it bright pink flooring and wallpaper? Is it not enough floor-to-ceiling windows? Or is it a huge fixer-upper?

Use your tablescape to your advantage this year and dress it to the nines for the holiday season! And don’t be shy with the decor, especially if you’re planning to host this year. House decorations are best when they’re simple, but your dining table can act as that main centerpiece. Use ribbons, season foliage, lights, and candles to really conjure the magic of the holidays.

A new month calls for a new monthly to-do list. Don’t have one prepared yet? Try these three on for size: 1 As saddening as it is every single year, it’s time to take down the holiday decorations. But you can still have fun with decorations by keeping a wintery theme. 2 Create a home expense budget sheet for 2021 so that there are no surprises. This will also allow you to plan accordingly for any big plans/expenses for the year.... 3 If it’s time to move out, call your real estate agent! There’s no better time than now to start looking towards the future.

This just in: The #DesignTrend of the year is shiplap! What is #shiplap? The style of shiplap got its name and inspiration from ships. The overlapping joints are what made shiplap so great for boats it was tight and waterproof. This is why it also became popular in regions with harsh climates. Even if you’re not constantly battling with the elements, shiplap can add a charming look and feel to your home.... Vertical shiplap can make any room look taller, and the bold lines and handcrafted look makes it incredibly versatile. Have you installed shiplap in your home?

Definition time! Today’s lexicon is down payment. A #DownPayment is a portion of the house purchase price that you pay out of pocket. This is a way to finalize the transaction, and it comes before any loans are taken out to finance remainder payments.
