Annika Sandberg CEO/Principal at Hospitality 19h Hospitality was approached by a potential buyer for the Cecil Hotel Building in Downtown Los Angeles a historic landmark dating back to the 1920’s. The client’s primary concern was the rooftop of the property, which is currently undeveloped, seeking assistance in creating a design to convert it into a leisure destination for hotel guests and downtown residents alike. We developed a program comprising a large outdoor restaurant/bar, a separate more intimate bar for patrons not looking to dine, and an infinity pool surrounded by green-house like units for hotel guests to use as workout, yoga, and meditation spaces. Collapsible walls allow for the conversion of these units into a single, multi-functional event space adding another layer of function to our design.
