The Hornsmythe founder and original artist Theresa "yellow hair" MacWillie has been hospitalized since July 4th. She is still battling and in recovery. Theresa's humble beginnings were in the black powder mountain man and Native American communities where she both participated and made historical recreations back in 1979. Starting in 1988 at the original renissance pleasure faire in Aguora ca, she began The Hornsmythe selling drinking horns, skrishaw, horned headdresses, and ...sundry "apothecary" items (animal bits for ceremonial and personal use) In later years, along with her partner Cal, The Hornsmythe branched out into fantasy faires, science fiction conventions, anime conventions, and a variety of themed events. She has done historical restoration work for museums. Her work has also been featured in Dances with Wolves, Wagons East, and Last of the Mohicans to name a few films. We will be featuring some of her original creations.
