We thought we would introduce Thursday Thoughts, where we could use this space to give our amazing staff an opportunity to share a little bit about themselves, why they love their jobs, why they chose their respective fields, some wins they have recently had with their clients/families, etc... A little window into their world. Hope you enjoy...

A lot of our young friends have such mechanical minds! We always like to encourage special interests and hobbies. We also like to match learners with similar interests together to help practice making and maintaining friendships. Make sure to make conversation and practice reciprocal conversation when engaged with their favorite activities so that in the future those skills can be generalized to peers.

We love a good sensory activity! Let your little learners test out all sorts of different substances and textures, finger paint, play with shaving cream, explore with slime that has beads in it, etc. These activities allow our learners to explore different sensations in a safe and fun environment and activity. If there are some things your child avoids, it’s ok to ease into it and let them stir with a spoon or feel through a plastic bag. All of these activities allow for conversation and rapport building.
