Finding solutions and resources for unsheltered individuals in Norwalk continues to be a priority. Here is just one example of what the city is doing to address the issue. Social Services staff and the Public Safety H.O.P.E team is working together to submit referrals for unsheltered individuals in our city to receive shelter at the Project Homekey site (located at Motel 6 on Rosecrans). The referrals require extensive documentation. Priority is given to those 65 and older or who have medical vulnerabilities. Two individuals have been accepted so far, 14 referrals are pending.

The city held its first responder toy distribution a little different this year. Nevertheless, many children in the community received some Christmas cheer. I had a little gift for our public safety. Nothing fancy, but practical. #BeWellBeSafe #stayhealthykit
