If there is one section of your loan estimate I need you to pay really close attention to, it's PAGE 2 SECTION A! These are your LENDER FEES! Which are 100% negotiable. Typically, this cost should stay anywhere between $1,000 to $1,800. Anything over $1,800 should be a red flag! This might mean your lender is charging you either a discount point or an origination fee in order to give you a specific interest rate. So even though you think your lender is giving you a great interest rate, you might be paying more in lender fees to make up for it. Remember this section when shopping and comparing lenders. This will let you know who is overcharging you!
