This month @holygroundscoffee Artist: Alyssa Marie Uh AMP @art_by_alyssa.marie.uh Medium: Digital-Optical Art on 16x16 Gallery Wrap Canvas Price: $100... Sacred Hearts I am a proud Chicana creative, best known for capturing the uncommon and unknown. As a digital-optical artist, it is always the color and shapes that I remember most from the raw images I use. Reassembling images is an elusive quality that can transform an image in matter of seconds. Enjoy my different perspective on healing, expansion and growth through abstract expressionism. #localartists #sacredheart #sagradocorazon

For the month of November, we are featuring Stephanie Hernandez - @thatsphanie - Art, to me, started as a form of therapy. Over time, art developed into my favorite pastime and passion. Over the last five years, I have focused on my paintings but I have enjoyed drawing for years. I was able to participate in the Ryman’s Art Program through my high school years. Today, a lot of my work focuses on portraits of people and pets. My ultimate goal is to try to capture all the beauty that surrounds me through my paintings in hopes of sharing it others. #localartists #elsereno #artshow @ Holy Grounds Coffee & Tea

Now on display @holygroundscoffee Andres Vela - I have researched and have been influenced by the art history, culture and various styles of Central America and Mexico, from Post-revolutionary Mexican Muralism to Ancient Mayan stonework. The work I do has influences of Mesoamerican, Ancient Asian cultures and religions, Contemporary Mexican and Chicano Art. What has influenced my art the most are the cultural perceptions of life and death contained within these cultures, an...d the spiritual understanding and interpretation of animal life. The featherwork of these cultures has influenced me, seeing their headdresses and the birds they worship like hummingbirds and the quetzal. I decided that their views on nature and process of life were broad, and found that I needed to simplify what I found to be salient and admirable from these cultures, that being their mark-making. This series of paintings, titled White On Blue, is the product of that simplification. The works may be non-representative or abstract. I put these figures, shapes, and white marks in a surreal blue space as if they are floating. They can embody a portrait representing a head-dress, like those of the indigenous people, or not have any symbolic language, just white marks in a blue space left open to interpretation, left for eyes to follow. @andresvelaart andresvelaart.wixsite.com/andresvelaart #vela #losangeles #elsereno #artshow @ Holy Grounds Coffee & Tea
