Two very nice young ladies from Tokyo enjoying the Half Day City Tour! From Farmers Market they went up to Hollywood to watch the Hollywood Christmas Parade (formerly known as the Santa Claus Lane Parade)!!!

Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to perform in Hollywood's most popular nightclub, The Mocambo, because of her race & body size. Marilyn Monroe, who was a big fa...n, called the owner and explained that if he booked Ella, she would be there every night, which guaranteed huge press coverage. He booked Ella and Marilyn was there, front table, every single night as promised. Ella said, "After that, I never had to play a small jazz club again. A fabulous day including the Half Day City Tour with lunch at Farmers Market for a group of friends, family and colleagues celebrating a retiring 34-yr Delta Captain. A splendid time was had by all!!!

A popular underground figure in Hollywood for over 40 years has passed on . The two books about his life and documentary made a few years ago are still popular. RIP Scotty.
