Availability updated for Saturday, April 10th : Slowly but surely we are adding new products to our farmstand. This week, it's STRAWBERRIES! Please arrive ear...ly as they sell out quickly. Here's what we have available at the farmstand for Saturday: . Apple juice, BABY BOK CHOY (NEW), red and gold beets, broccoli, green and red cabbage, NAPA CABBAGE (NEW), bunched carrots, celery, red chard, cilantro, fennel, green and lacinato kale, leeks, green leaf, RED LEAF (NEW), romaine, green and red butter lettuce, red/white/yellow onions, italian parsley, parsnips (SOON) , red and yellow potatoes, bunched red radishes, rutabaga, shallots, STRAWBERRIES (NEW), sugar snap peas, white and purple top turnips and walnuts. COMING SOON: Cucumbers! We welcome everyone who would like to shop at our farmstand. During these times of Covid 19, we do require (and it is company policy) that all customers wear a face covering while shopping. If you don't have a face covering, ask anyone from the farm and they will provide one to you, no questions asked. If you are unable to wear any kind of face covering, please send a friend or relative who can wear a mask to shop for you. As always, we are open from 8 am to 1 pm every Saturday. We are located at 400 Duncan Avenue in San Juan Bautista. March 25-31 is Farmworker Awareness Week. Even at the farmers' market, we don't always get to meet the people who grow and harvest our food. Thank you to Studen...t Action with Farmworkers for compiling this information about Who Farmworkers Are: There are 2.5-3 million farmworkers in the United States; 200,000 are H-2A Visa workers. 53% of farmworkers have work authorization such as U.S. citizenship, legal permanent residency or a visa. Farmworkers work in planting, cultivating and harvesting crops, poultry & meat processing, nursery & greenhouse work, packing & food processing, and sharecropping. 80% of all farmworkers are Hispanic or Latinx. The states with the highest farmworker populations are California, Texas, Washington, Florida, Oregon and North Carolina. We are so sad to hear of the passing of talented Becky Thompson, "The Soap Lady". Becky's products that she produced and distributed through San Benito Soap Works have made their way into the hands of so many. The creativity and care she showed in her craft made every bar, tin and bottle unique and special. Her smile and joy will be missed. Condolences to her husband and their family.
