HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE! It's the last day of the year, another milestone and another chapter in life. 2020 started out very differently and at the time I was sharing more on this IG account. I was booked and working but when the shut down happened I switched to doing lives, teaching zoom group and private classes, and dealing with a new pandemic way of life. Everyone has been impacted one way or another but I can honestly say I got by with a little help from my (family &) frien...ds Thank you for being in my life Thank you for the love and support Thank you to my clients Thank you for your trust and kindness 2020 Reflections: Connected with fellow hair and makeup artists in both the SD and LA communities <3 Took all the trainings I could first in person and then through zoom. Went to Joshua Tree for my first time and then like 4 more times to enjoy nature. Went to Sedona for my first time and did an amazing hike at 4am. Worked countless weddings, photoshoots, and productions (safely) but never and if so rarely took any footage. So grateful for all the amazing people I've met and worked with Bought countless face masks, shields and other PPE. (my favorite is still the ArtFrame shield with a large loop mask) Got back into my first artistic love of painting but explored new outlets such a digital drawing and photography. Received a 98% in my Photography Class Turned our dirt backyard into a beautiful sanctuary Started a Youtube and TikTok channel but wasn't my first love so turned to teaching zoom classes and lives (might get back into it later who knows) Worked countless hours building @alchemybeautyacademy with @kimmdicato including countless hours searching, touring, reviewing legal documents, building furniture, websites, curriculum, processes and the works! We may bend, we may break but how we persevere will be all that matters. Be kind to your neighbors and your community for it will be them you can look to for support. Looking back on this year I couldn't be happier to enter 2021 with my next big adventure and goals. May your New Year bring you health, happiness and prosperity! With Love, Hollie Berry

If you caught my impromptu IG Live last night - The time has come to let go of "The Beast" aka the Stilazzi Godfather case I've had since I decided to dedicate my life to the beauty industry. This case represents my first big initial investment to go Pro - making freelance Hair and Makeup my Full-time job. I LOVED this case and still do.... The bottom case was my go-to on location case. It has everything you need for the fastest set-up and breakdown. There is a plastic lined bottom cavity, velcro top pouches (with removable pouches all around), 2 drawer units which can be taken out or kept in to organize and hold all your tools, makeup, pencils, etc. Sometimes I would take them out on location to have them at table top height. The top case is great for holding tall, larger items such as hairsprays with two flip out drawers with again all those magical interchangeable pouches. You can easily bring both of these with you as they stack together however I would usually keep my back stock and other items in the top case as a home organizer. This case is great for anyone starting out, does Sfx, needs a makeup organizer or even someone who just needs a quick buck to sell (no judgment). Also, if you caught the @temptu masterclass with @isabelle.de.vries you'd see this case is similar to what she uses to store her plastic bins instead of the 2 drawer units. So...something else I've been sleeping on is sharing this image. It was one of my very first ones I took on a real hardcore DSLR camera, with real fancy lenses, tripod and the works! This was only possible because the amazing @m2images leant me it to explore a new creative outlet - Photography. It is an amazing craft and I give major props to all the photags ... So not only was this one of my very first images, I took this COMPLETELY IN THE DARK. I'm talking nothing but moonlight, getting splashed with waves and attacked by million tiny gnats. It was also one of the best moments I got to share with my partner in crime <3 It also only happened because a neighbor happened to be walking by and mention the bioluminescence was spectacular. Soooooo what did we do? - Grabbed our gear to photograph it! Oh and also edit it! Yes one of my first edits and YES I enhanced the fantasy portions as this is my take on it. MAGICAL NOW I love taking landscape and nature photos, so my next venture may be LIVE MODELS GASP! I am so beyond humbled with everyones support on the big news THANK YOU SO MUCH! Any time you create something new and present it to the world it can be daunting as you're not sure how others will react.... Artists experience this all the time and in my opinion are quite brave. It takes courage to not only put yourself out there but as well as your creation. I a so glad and thankful you have all welcomed this new creation with open arms, it means the world to us. While 'Rona Season' definitely impacted my ability to do personal services and in person lessons it was also an opportunity for me to explore virtual learning and really focus on ABA (@AlchemyBeautyAcademy). I was able to explore teaching methods, styles, and even practice my cadence. If you came to some of my first classes I'm sorry if I talked wayyyyyyy too fast lol There is so much to teach, share and still learn from that having more time and eventually in person opportunities to help others has lifted my heart and spirit to new heights. Safety will always be priority # 1 and something that is strictly enforced in our space and education. ! Long time no speak or see for that matter. A pandemic sure has impacted things but "life will always find a way." : I have taken the past few months to work on a very important, very special, and very close to my heart project. ... To be honest it's been almost a year in the making and I'm finally on the brink of letting the cat out of the bag!
