Sorry everyone, we're not going to be able to do a video this morning - technical difficulties. We will do one next week on Wednesday. However, I do want to share with everyone what is going on with the proposed new laws about immigration. First, there is no new law yet. ... The US Congress has two parts: the House of Representatives and the Senate. The House is controlled by the Democrats, who want to help immigrants. So the House passed a proposed new law (called a "bill") yesterday. This bill will expand the DACA / Dreamer program and provide a pathway to citizenship for them. It will also create a pathway to citizenship for anyone in TPS. Finally, it will create a pathway to citizenship for children of farmworkers. But, this bill IS NOT THE LAW YET!! The bill needs to get passed in the Senate, and that will be much more difficult to get passed. So again, there is no new law yet, just proposed laws. We will do a video next Wednesday and explain all of this in more detail.

We are going to have a video tomorrow morning to explain today's news about proposed changes to immigration laws and how they will affect the dreamers and others. STAY TUNED!!!

A great day!!! This is my client with his mom and his three children. 6 years ago he came to my office because ICE arrested him and started a deportation case against him. I had just started my own law office but was happy to take his case and help him out. After 6 years of hearings and delays, bringing the case from San Francisco to Sacramento, and after meeting with him at my office many times to make sure we were prepared - the immigration judge granted his case and will let me client stay in the United States and give him a green card. He is one of my favorite clients. Easy to work with, always came to his appointments, got me all the paperwork that I requested to prepare his case, and he's just a good dude. A hard-working man that loves his family and wants to stay here to take care of them. Happy for him and his family.
