Holiday Park Pool 11.11.2020

Hello neighbors today I am writing you all to inform you that, unfortunately the pool will not be opening this season. There are too many repairs and updates needed to be able to fund the opening of the pool this season. We are going to let the city do there repairs and upgrades this season, and we hope to open again next season. We do apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to all of the kids, but last year we held a vote to raise the assessment and the neighborhood u...nanimously declined. That being said our current assessment was established in the 60's and does not provide enough money for the pool to function in any given season. Over the last 3 years the board has raised and spent over 30,000 dollars out of our personal fund raising account just to keep the pool a float. We hope that everyone understands, and we hope to see everyone back the following year. See more

Hello fellow neighbors! Because of the lack of funding from our city, (the city was giving the pool subsidies to cover the excess costs just to keep up with the pg&e and water bills which we were told we will no longer receive.) and the lack of volunteers from the neighborhood, (no participation in attending the monthly meetings) we have no option but to close for this season. We hope to reopen next year if we can find the funds. We knew this was a possibility, and tried our... best last year to make the money by making the pool open to the public on weekends, and selling from the snack bar. But it was still not enough. We tried to raise the assessment on the homeowners taxes, sent out ballots for a few dollar a year increase, and it was voted down by our neighbors. As board members, we are all unpaid volunteers who donated our time and services to keep up the pool for our neighbors, our children and our community. We will keep everyone posted on any updates. Hopefully by closing for 1 season we will be able to save enough money to open next season If the city is on board with that idea. In order for the city to allow us to open this year we needed a written plan for raising at least an additional 10,000 over what the assessment gives the pool, as well as complete all the required updates to the pool. Unfortunately the funds are just not there. I know my kids love that pool every summer! Let's hope that next season will be a go! Please message us for any comments or concerns. See more

I wanted to reach out to the neighbors in the area and ask if anyone has seen a very small white and brown chihuahua running around. Her name is Rosie and she turned up missing earlier this week. I know this is probably the fastest way to get the word out in the neighborhood, so if any one has any info or has seen her you can message me back on here or call me at 209 992 7900. Thank you and we look forward to seeing everyone again at the pool next season.
