There can be anywhere from one tree to hundreds of trees on a project site. Tree inventory reports help organize information about the trees located on the site including the species, the conditions of the tree, location, and size. Our certified arborists are experts in their field in identifying the best solutions on how to address existing trees on a project site so as to make sure project deadlines are met while meeting City requirements. An example of this includes one of our San Jose projects where there are over 400 trees across multiple city blocks. A tree inventory provides project managers with the information necessary to make educated decisions efficiently, understand tree risk, and determine maintenance requirements. #ArborWeek2020 #HMHca

With large scale projects, like the 17-acre Gateway at Millbrae project, reducing the impact to existing trees is important. We are working with Republic Urban Properties on this project to ensure proper tree protection measures are in place. Tree management throughout the development process is important in order to preserve essential and/or historical trees that will provide benefits to the community and environment for decades to come. A few ways to protect the trees from common construction injuries like root damage, soil compaction, heat damage include adding a fencing around the tree protection zone, trunk protection structures, and root pruning. Whether we are working on projects, participating in company events, and staying active with our HMH Wellness program, we also find time to showcase our dance skills. Want a sneak peek into what #LifeAtHMH is like? Check out our recent video! Kudos to Madeline (Maddie) Pritchard and Deena Morsilli, AICP for coordinating with staff and teaching everyone the dance moves. #HMHca
