Herd It Through The Grapevine 08.05.2021

UPDATE (4/14/21): Redford was seen this morning between 7:00-8:15 AM, in the more populated area around the Petaluma Valley Hospital & Lucchesi Park, and Corona Rd. He was panicked by the traffic on Corona, and witnesses said he was "running scared." Two days ago he was in the Petaluma Hills in vast farm land acreage. He could still be on the move. PLEASE SHARE to anyone in the Penngrove & Petaluma, CA, areas. We need sightings only to know his whereabouts, hoping that he w...ill stay in a general area, so that we can put out a feeding station and have him stay around. Pls. observe him, but do not pursue him. Please call us immediately if you see him! On April 9 (Friday), Redford was transported from the shelter to us. We met in Penngrove Park, to meet his foster mom's dog on neutral territory. Redford escaped from the van before he could be leashed.

Our vet office in Santa Rosa (CA) saved a dog today! Maggie is a very sweet, 1.5 year old female (spayed and has all vaccinations). Her people brought her in to be euthanized today. We were told the reason was that Maggie's stomach couldn't get settled. The folks at the vet office asked to have Maggie relinquished to them, and then started looking for rescue for her. We didn't have a foster home for her, but asked around, and Maggie will soon be available for adoption from Dogwood Animal Rescue!

Please Share with anyone who may want to adopt or rescue! "Bo" was surrendered to the Stockton Shelter when he was with other dogs and they would all get out of their property. His crime was trying to herd people, by barking and pulling at their pant legs. He never bit anyone, just chased at legs. Once separated from the others he is very submissive and unsure of himself. He is available for adoption, but must be in a secure home, and have people willing to teach him impulse control and how to channel his herding instinct! Anyone interested or who has questions, please contact the Stockton Animal Shelter Rescue staff at: (209) 751-7428 or email: [email protected]
